Jakes Moving and Storage

Don't think too much of them at this point, I contacted them several days ago and yet to have heard back from them.

My sister used Jake's to move her today. They were wonderful!! So nice and compassionate. My sister had a bad accident during this move and cut tendons in her foot. She has had little help from her 'friends' and was so grateful. They were professionals and kept telling her to rest and put her foot up and let them do what she needed done. Which is very hard for her to do. Would recommend them to anyone. Sweet guys who really care about your situation.

We were moving my special needs brother to Assisted Living. He had a one-bedroom apt. and moved to a Studio. Jake said his crew would arrive in the afternoon. THEY ARRIVED AT 8:00 A. M. We were not ready and I lived 15 miles away. The 'boxes of stuff' to be moved and Good Will were divided, but there was no line on demarcation. My brother was not able to say what was going and what was staying. I could not tell them over the phone. If I was on a Zoom call, I could have told them.

BUT that would not have resolved the problem of what was not yet packed. When I got to the Studio apartment, I complained about cost and what was left behind. I was told it would take only 20 minutes to unload because they had a trolley and the Studio was so close to the door. An hour and a smoke break later they finally ended.

This whole move is not what I expected. It took 4 car loads to move the rest. I called Jake and spoke to his wife. I was given a run-around about how I wasn't at the apartment when the movers got there and why didn't I ask them to wait. Yea, the clock would have been ticking and ticking all the while I finished packing. They did not even want to hear about the facts that they came 4 hours early AND moved 4 containers of Good Will items.

I asked for $100 of the over $500 bill to be returned. I thought this was reasonable, but Jake never even called me back to negotiate. NOT MUCH OF A BUSINESS MAN. BEWARE!

Chad and Noah were terrific. This was not an easy move. But, they were in good humor and worked to get everything in the house. Professional and friendly.
