Jay's Moving Company

I've used Jay's twice now; once for a move in 2016, and then just this week to pack and move my late father's apartment into storage. Both times were excellent.

This week, Jay's sent Aaron, Will T, Sean, and Ox to pack and move my dad's stuff. They were professional and quick. They identified items that I might not want to put into storage, and they took the utmost care of my stuff.

Jay's estimates were a bit higher than other moving companies, but I am happy to pay for the service, care, and professionalism that this company shows.

We had a great experience using Jay’s Moving Company. We had one truck and three guys, and they moved our entire house in 5 hours. They worked hard, were efficient and I thought the price was reasonable and worth it. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely the WORST moving experience ever!!!! Receiving quote was fast and effortless. Price was on higher end, but was told by locals, so I decided move forward. HUGE MISTAKE!!! Movers came late, started moving, then decided to take a lunch (I was not charged for this time). Movers were careless and scuffed up my freshly painted walls. Zero effort to be careful. During the move, my dining room table was damaged and un-repairable. Missing piece to my outdoor dining table.

Problems only became worst. After placing a claim, Mike M (one of the owners) told me the claim for damaged/missing items would be processed ASAP. Total lie!!! A moving dolly was left at my house and Mike constantly emailed/called me to set up a time to pick up the dolly. He was more concerned with retrieving the dolly vs ensuring my claim was processed. I decided to allow him to pick up the dolly...HUGE mistake on my part. After picking up the dolly, communication ended. It has been 2 months and no progress with my claim. I have emailed Mike as well as Amanda his wife and have not received a single response post dolly retrieval. The most unprofessionally run business I have encountered.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

There were several issues with this move: 1) the quote that I received over the phone didn't mention trip charges and I ended up paying extra ~$200; 2) I booked three movers and they sent only two stating that they just didn't have the third person. The job was too big for two people and although the movers worked very hard, they didn't finish the job; 3) The movers broke the leg of the desk, which can happen, but the manager/owner claimed that it was already broken in storage (I actually saw that it went on the truck in one piece and came out in two). The owner was exceptionally rude and insulting over the phone and blamed me for all the problems practically calling me a liar. At the end, I even decided not to submit insurance claim for the desk because I am so disgusted with this company that I don't want any interactions with them. I prefer to pay to somebody else to fix the desk. I have never been treated by any company so poorly.
