So thankful for great people at Johnson Storage & Moving! During a remodel my furniture needed to be moved out in two separate trips...both times my items were handled with care (blanketed and wrapped and taped). I also had a special request for one item to be delivered back before all other items - and this was done SO efficiently (thank you Ethan!) and timely; I am beyond appreciative of the efforts everyone made to make this happen. Will definitely make a call to Johnson Storage & Moving again for future needs. Thank you all so much five stars!!
If you want your large ticket items to come in missing, not have a resolution weeks later , and your signature forged on documents - this is the mover for you. Moving for a new job, we had arranged for a move about three weeks in advance. Face time call, went from room to room. Estimate was about $18k. They knew the dates, when we had to be out, when we got possession of the new house - everything. Promised they would be moving everything, it would be all their team. The day of the move- specifically the day the new owners took possession- imagine our surprise when our 8am-10am window of arrival passed and not a phone call, not a driver- absolutely no communication. When I started calling I was I was told at least three times the driver would be there in 45 minutes- each time it passed, another 45 minutes were put on the clock. Said the driver had to find a crew, the crew didn’t show up. Then he had to go get a truck. Just talked to the driver he is in his way…. And hour later nothing. United finally asked if we could just call them if a driver arrived - that isn’t comforting. At 2pm a crew showed up with no driver or truck At 3pm ish the driver showed up. House was 4 bedrooms, 5 bath, bsmt, shed, garage full of tools-Driver comes with a rig that is 2/3rd full. It was obvious from the time the back opened there was no shot in hell we would fit. Called United- they first challenged that I was listening to hearsay when I was staring at a nearly full rig. They finally admit it won’t fit and at this point the new owners come in 3 hours-.Was promised by Monika that a second company would come that same day and grab that overload. Somewhere along the way one of their guys mentioned no second truck was coming that day - no official communications came until after 5pm. They were never able to secure that second truck for that day, they promised something they hadn’t actually arranged. Turns out - the crew the driver had banked on, per the driver, left the previous job before it was done on Friday, their ‘contract’ expired Saturday, but somehow he expected them to show up to our house the following Tuesday nope.The driver said he tried to call corporate all weekend and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. And the finger pointing begins. Panic sets in that we need to be out of the house per our sales contract , 1/3 of our things are on one truck. The house is full of our stuff still, and the new owners are now at the house.They agree to let us put all the remaining things in the garage and it will be picked up the next day. Garage is packed, TV’s, beds, sofas, tools, etc. Still tipped them, I was afraid if I didn’t i would never see my shit. We had no where to stay with three animals and we had already book and paid for the hotels for our 1200 mile trip to FL. The next day I asked for progress photos, that lasted about 5 minutes, begged for a Venmo- as I felt if I didn’t tip- I would pay one way or another. Every day Monika reassured my everything would be fine and after asking four times for a Venmo to tip over 3 days - I gave up. Turns out a second company picked up the items in the garage, a third f’ing company drove 2/3 of our stuff down. Three companies now involved- by the company who said they would handle everything . The day of the move - a forth crew- but from Johnson starts delivering. Super kind crew - hustling. It is late, like 9pm and they are putting together furniture etc . They they are done - and our reclining sofa have no backs. Two sofas - six backs - none of them are here. Table top ripped off of the pedestal vs unbolted, cabinet with legs missing, bookcase with delivered but missing shelves, chair with missing wheels- and later to find out a shit ton of missing tools. Driver pulls out a form that said many items were voided (including the sofas) and signed by me- but not my signature. Run - do not walk - to another moving company who actually who has one shred of honesty, doesn’t forge your signature and who won’t destroy/‘lose’ your assets.
Johnson Storage and Moving is simply the BEST. STILL family run..superior customer service and provides personal hands-on service every step of the way. From the start, every detail of the move was addressed and the 3 movers took extra care with my belongings. Even made 2nd stop at storage unit to pick up bed and sev other items. Best movers around. Recommend highly!
We had an excellent move with Johnson/United during our move from CO to the Gulf Coast. When we contacted them, we had just fired another nationally-known moving company after weeks of wrestling with them over their vagueness and lack of transparency on pricing, then looked at two other movers and got more bad feelings, and finally tried Johnson/United. Frankly, we were depressed and suspicious by that point, but then we had a completely open and friendly experience with Johnson. It was a breath of fresh air. They communicated with us frequently throughout the experience, let us pick and choose the exact level of service we needed, gave us an exact (and reasonable) price quote that never changed, and then packed, shipped, and delivered all on time and minimal problems. Shout out especially to our move coordinators Ethan and Chrissy. I can't even begin to explain how big a load off our shoulders it was to deal with them and not have to constantly obsess (as we had with the other mover) about shifting prices, dodgy hidden fees, and wildly uncertain dates. Moving is always a dreadful process, but I have never had as good a moving company experience as I did with Johnson/United, and I speak from experience having moved both domestically and internationally over a dozen times in the past 30 years.
