Professional, friendly, fast

I recently hired Kirby’s Moving Company, and while the two movers who performed the job were professional and efficient, my overall experience was highly disappointing due to unethical practices by the owner, Tay Nguyen.

The initial estimate provided was reasonable, and I was assured it covered everything I needed. However, after the service was completed, the final bill included unexpected charges that were neither communicated nor authorized. For example, I had purchased my own materials, yet I was charged extra for materials provided by the company. Additionally, I paid for two movers, but a third person was brought along without my consent, and I was billed for their time as well.

The most egregious issue was that Tay Nguyen ran my credit card without my authorization, resulting in an overcharge of $315. When I reached out to discuss these discrepancies, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. As a business owner, clear communication and ethical practices are paramount, but unfortunately, neither was upheld in this instance.

Transparency in billing is critical, and last-minute changes to an agreed-upon price after the job is completed are unacceptable. If these additional charges had been communicated to me before services began, I might have understood. However, blindsiding customers with hidden fees undermines trust.

While I appreciate the hard work of the movers, my dissatisfaction with the management and lack of ethical conduct prevents me from recommending this company. I also feel unsettled knowing the owner has my personal information, including my home address. I have since installed cameras for peace of mind.

For those considering Kirby’s Moving Company, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless significant changes are made to ensure pay transparency and respect for customers. I also don’t appreciate being lied to. As you can see my first invoice says 2 bedroom and 2 worked hired for the job. This text was also sent to me AFTER he had already charged my card without permission. Please see attached proof of invoices to substantiate my claims.
