The gate is often broken and left open. I left a voicemail to cancel a week before my autopay went through. They never got back to me. When I called the day after I got charged, they cancelled my unit over the phone, but refused to pro-rate move out or refund me. So I ended up getting charged for a month I don't need. Bad customer service policies.
Let me explain a little more KO since you did not understand about the lock! I know I have to provide my own lock that’s a no brainer! The unit you gave me you can’t open due to the unit being damaged and where the lock goes is broken! Also you state you must have a cylinder lock but not all of them have the option for that! Make sure you fix the broken units and let people know what lock will fit the unit they get!
It was awful. I had it one day. It takes a special lock and of course I could not buy one anywhere in town. So I wasted a whole day looking for the lock only to rent a different storage place. They did refund me fully
I rented a unit online and that was great and easy. When I went to the republic mo location to check out the unit, the security gate was open, no one on site and the lock to the unit was broken. It is not as described and definitely not secure. Thankfully when I called they cancelled it no problem and gave me my money back. Just make sure you check the place first before renting.
