I was preparing to go on military deployment and I had movers move my stuff into what I thought was a climate controlled storage unit. The rep for the storage unit assured me over the phone I was getting a good price for a climate controlled unit due to being military. I had not seen the unit because of deployment but trusted I was getting what I requested. Is this how businesses treat military members because they think we are away and helpless..I contacted my movers 7 months later to get my items delivered and everything I own was damaged. I was told by the movers that the storage facility did not assign me a climate control unit but one outdoors. My furniture, electronics and clothes were damaged. They were full of dust, bugs, moisture and other debris. The storage facility does not want to shoulder any responsibility. I am left with nothing. Who can I turn to for help? If businesses refuse to do the right thing? After all this the manager hung up in my face while I was trying to explain.
