My move from Rancho Santa Margarita to London, England!
Would always choose Legend.
The best part of having chosen Legend for my international move was finding that I was able to discuss my move directly with its owner Izzy Lerner! He is obviously experienced but is such a nice man and very sympathetic. Moving is always an emotional thing for the householder and he understood that with me and was sympathetic and proactive with advice. I would always choose Legend! Also Legend work with very good Associates in the London, UK end, another sign of a good company!
tl;dr: the owner is a liar, the shipping a nightmare, and there is a high chance your items will be stolen/damaged.
At first Izzy was very helpful and easy to work with. He was attentive and offered a reasonable price for our move. But there were issues as the moving day approached. We had to reschedule our move a number of times to accommodate a large move he was doing with the military. Then, the real trouble happened. The US-based movers contracted did a poor job with our move, resulting in almost $10K of damages and missing items. As a previous posters experienced, this included intentionally 'losing' a box of valuables (it seems in very large moves they under-count a few boxes and take them, hoping your are overwhelmed by the manifest; side note, avoid VIP Relocation, who are the ones who mishandled this aspect of the move). The arrived shipment was in disarray with boxes missing numbers, double numbers, and incorrect descriptions to numbers: it took a month to properly inventory everything.
But even getting our stuff was a hassle. Our delivery was a month delayed to ship--which Izzy never informed us about. Actually, we heard NOTHING from Izzy for months until I reached out and asked about the status of the shipment. That's when we were told our shipment was about to arrive--forcing us to scramble to get all the acceptance paperwork ready and avoid holding fees. Apparently, this was in issue with the shippers not communicating and Izzy having some medical procedures. I'm not really sure whose fault it is, but for almost $20K, I expect someone to manage my delivery and tell me when my items are shipped and when they are arriving.
Even the insurance process was a nightmare (Atlas insurance; avoid at all costs). Their policy does not pay out for damaged furniture unless it's broken, so all those scratches and dents worth thousands of dollars to fix were not paid out. Worse, they wouldn't cover the missing items because the New Zealand delivery wouldn't write an explanation for the missing items even though the delivery invoice clearly showed the items were not delivered--and it was impossible to determine what was and not there amongst 200 boxes without unboxing everything due to the poorly prepared move. The whole process took 7 months, and they offered less than $500.
While much is this is not Izzy's fault per se, he is the one who hired the people responsible for these problems. Moreover, to file the claims I needed a letter from Izzy, which he said he would provide. For over two months I have called multiple times a week to get this letter. He either ignores the calls or, when you do reach him, tells you he will get it to you shortly (but never does). A year and half later, there is still always an excuse. Lying is the last straw, and I don't think you can trust him or any of the people he contracts.

Dealt with Izzy from the time I contacted them, all the way until our 400 cf shipment was delivered in Italy. They even helped us right at the end of our journey to ensure my family got our bed on time. Communicative and I compared prices with 3 other companies. I would use them again and recommend. -Joe
