The movers were efficient and did a good job. The issue is with their communication about rates. When I called to schedule with them, I asked about rates and was given a 3 hour rate of $688 and then an additional rate per mover of $54/hour following the initial 3 hours. I called a second time to verify and to see if anyone would need to see the property first. I was given the same rates and told no on a visit, but I gave them a list of everything that would need moving. The movers finished in just under 3 hours and then I received an invoice for the 3 hours plus an additional 4.5 hours that they said was because they added additional movers to help during the initial 3 hours. I was never told that the 3 hours was for a certain amount of people and was never informed that if they added more during this time that it would change the initial fee for the 3 hours. When asked about this, they made no effort to change any of it and just said, the girl on the phone should have explained the rates better. So it was their mistake even though I contacted them twice ahead of time about rates but they wouldn't do anything about it and kept the additional 4.5 hours at $54/hour on the invoice. To me, it seems like they can add additional employees at any time to increase the rate without any notice to the customer.

If you need movers you gotta give this company a call. From the home walk through to get an estimate to the completion of the move, this company was nothing short of first class. The movers were fast and efficient and very courteous. In the end they completed the move so quickly they even reduced the total charge. Just an awesome experience all around.

Local family-owned company! Great service! I found Lifeson through Google, spoke with Julia, their office manager, and the company's owner to arrange for labor-only help to move my child in at U of Iowa. They also have a company box truck you can contract. Movers just as I arrived at our storage unit, moved everything carefully and quickly into our UHaul rental, and just as carefully moved all items into new apartment. They reassembled bed rails and headboard as well as a dining table quickly and efficiently. All their business is word-of-mouth and I can't say enough about the great job these gentlemen did. They were quick but careful, polite and friendly...true Iowa hospitality and service. Thank you all.

Just getting pricing

Lifeson just helped me move yesterday and they did a wonderful job! Everyone on the Lifeson team was kind, courteous, and super fast/efficient. They made sure to pack everything I needed in a safe way and fit it all on the truck I rented. I would recommend them to anyone!
