I normally don't leave reviews but this was a particular case where I felt that I had to. This move had some good, some bad, and 1 great thing. I had more or less a 3BR apt on the 3rd floor to move.

I called MJ for a quote which I received and called back 2 days later to book. I mention this so you will write down and keep track of what you are quoted, this comes into play later. MJ was pleasant on the phone and I booked 3 ppl for the move. I did have to tell him on the callback what he quoted me as he didn't remember apparently (again, make sure you write it down).

2 of the movers showed up with the truck within the window given, 1 was running late. The crew was extremely polite and easy to talk to. MJ also showed up onsite at the start to make sure everything was ok. He was also pleasant and easy to talk to.

Packing the truck took some time. This was partly because I had a lot of glass, but also because they didn't have the materials they needed at the start. I had informed MJ during the call that I had a lot of glass and would need some blankets/soft materials/etc. They also did not have a dolly. I don't blame the crew for this as it was a material issue and I'm pretty sure they weren't aware of it. During the packing of the truck, a piece of the bed was knocked into one the walls and made a dent. No worries, things happen during a move. One of the crew called MJ to inform him and MJ stated that he would call the next day to setup a time to come and patch it so I wouldn't get the hit to my deposit. The packing of the truck took approx. 5 and a half hrs from what I remember. They also couldn't get everything in the truck they had, tho they did get most of it.

Unpacking the truck at the new place went pretty smooth. Most of the items went into a garage. Now, they didn't do the best job unloading into the garage. At this point in the move, they were probably pretty exhausted and wanted to be done with the job. I get that and didn't hold it against the crew. There was also some damage (tear in leather) to part of my bed frame and minor damage to a desk of mine. I didn't see this until a few days later.

Now unfortunately for the bad. At the end of the move, we had to wait for approx 30-45m for MJ to get back with the crew to let them know what rate to charge. This is something that should have been given to them before hand. When MJ found out I was paying by card he called me to authorize the charge and the total he gave me was greater than the rate he quoted me during the initial call (the main reason to write it down and remember it). Now, I don't think he did this on purpose. I just think he didn't remember. I stated to him that the total isn't correct for the rate he gave me. He then gave me a new total that was correct and I authorized it. I also again check with him about fixing the dent in the wall which he again stated he would call me the next day.

The next day came and went and I heard nothing from him. The following day, I sent him a text and again... heard nothing. I basically got ghosted by him about fixing the wall. If this review was ending here, it would be a 1 star.

Now comes the great. One on the crew... Devin... had swung buy 2 days later to pick up a piece of furniture I wasn't taking with me. He asked if the dent had been fixed and I told him no. He then goes out of his way to come back the next day on his own time and money to fix it. In this day and age, finding a good person is hard to do... but Devin is it. MJ, this man deserves a raise. Devin did indeed come back the following day and patched the wall.

Again, Devin saved this review as I would have had a pretty sour experience from being ghosted about fixing something.

Pros:
Good price and deposit
Friendly/positive crew
Hard working
Devin

Cons:
If something goes wrong, no support from MJ to correct it
Tried to overcharge quoted price
Not supplied well with basic moving materials
