Lightning Movers

This is not the crew I used 2 years ago. Those guys were great but they sold the company. This bunch did not provide nearly the customer service, so I did not hire them. 1st, the guy told me I would get a quote option. He said I would get a 'not to exceed' menu based price quote or I would have the option of hourly. He said 9 of 10 times, hourly would be cheaper. Prior to setting up the appointment to get the quote, I was assured they had a spot saved for my move date, as I expressed concern they were waiting so long relative to the move date to get me a quote. When they contacted me with the estimate, they did not have my date available. The man I spoke to late Friday was unapologetic and said I could book for Sunday (the day after I needed to move). I asked him to put me down but he would not hold the spot unless I gave him my credit card info. I could not get that card in hand until just after 5pm. He would not pencil me in nor offer a means to get him the card info just after 5pm. It was a mess of red flags culminating in my selecting a company that was helpful and consistent at every level of my dealings with them. By the way, I liked the guy that came out. The guy I dealt with on the phone was less than stellar.

The original move plan was for them to pack and move me. It took 2 hours for 2 men to pack 4 cabinets, 3 drawers, and a pantry after they arrived 2 hours later than expected. Unpacking what they packed was interesting. I’m not sure who taught them to pack but they might want to rethink their approach. They packed Ajax (powder bleach) with food from my pantry… Overall, the move took 7 hours and they only packed my kitchen. In the end, I paid $800 which equates to $100 for packing supplies (i.e. 25 boxes, 2 rolls of tape, and 1 roll of bubble wrap) and 7.5 hours (30 min drive home time) and a deduction of $50 for the vase they broke. I would not recommend them.

Used them for a local move and had a great experience. The movers were very nice and helpful, and they got the job done really quickly. They were also accommodating to my schedule. I would definitely use them again!
