I've honestly never written a review in my life but this experience was so disturbing that I need to advocate for myself and other people. For me this was especially stressful as it was a full cross country move - something I should have celebrated and instead I ended up regretting.
My estimate was done by a woman who was professional, nice, polite and very quick! She came to my house and did the estimate right there. I quickly forwarded it to my company, only then to have her write back and say she forgot to add several things that we had clearly discussed. Furthermore, the price changed twice during the moving process and three weeks after my move, after I had repeatedly been ignored reaching out to my move coordinator about missing and damaged items, they reached out to me again asking for more money saying their system didn't charge me correctly. She also admitted that no one actually knows how to USE the system that allegedly charged me incorrectly. It felt like a cash grab because they knew I had my company paying for the move.
Now onto the missing items. Of every single thing that was packed, moved and unpacked, the only thing that went missing was my priceless grandmother's vintage china set from Germany. The entire set vanished into thin air. There was clearly a box left unchecked and yet even when I did get a reply from this company, they simply shrugged it off with no apology, no acknowledgment and no ownership. The response was 'well I asked the driver and he said he didnt know.'
Finally getting to the part where I need to file a claim for several damaged items including a destroyed bookcase from West Elm. I asked for the claim form, I filed the claim and then they come back and say they aren't responsible for the claim because they used a third party company for the move. Wouldn't you have known that in the first place?
Horrible. Horrible experience. There are plenty of moving companies out there so move on.
We used Lile for our 3,000 mile cross-country move and had an excellent experience. They gave us a reasonable 'not to exceed' quote after visiting our home. The customer-facing guy we spoke with was friendly and he answered quite a few questions we had in the weeks before the actual move.
On moving day they showed up on time and were quick and efficient. They put down carpets and whatnot to protect the floors and stairs.
It took 12 days after loading for the moving truck to get to our new home. The movers on the delivery end were also nice and quick. Nothing was broken, a few scuffs and dings here and there but nothing beyond that. We were very impressed.
Driver delivered household goods before expected time. Packers and movers were very efficient. One thing could be done better, Packing could have been done in a better organized way and better labelling.
Move went very well, everything was delivered. The delivery was hard since the street is very narrow and it was necessary to rent a small truck to unload the large trailer. This was navigated easily by CJ and his crew.
We only struggled with getting a final invoice but that too was resolved.
Javier and his team were superb...worked very hard.
