I recently used Live Moving and Storage for a move, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Initially, everything seemed fine; the movers were prompt and courteous. However, the real issues surfaced when I started unpacking.
Firstly, my shoes were carelessly stacked on top of each other, resulting in several pairs being completely ruined. Considering the cost of the move, I expected more care with handling delicate items like shoes.
Secondly, I had opted for a wardrobe box to transport my clothes, expecting them to be neatly hung inside. Instead, my clothes were simply dumped into a regular box without any provision for hanging. This was particularly frustrating as it led to significant creasing and wrinkling of my garments.
Thirdly, I entrusted them with packing 30 paintings, specifying they be individually packed and not stacked. Unfortunately, they disregarded this request, resulting in scraped paint and finger prints on several artworks. This contradicted their claim of 'white glove service' and left me deeply dissatisfied.
Overall, I paid $1200 for a 6-hour move, which is not insignificant for a one-bedroom apartment. They actually initially gave me an estimate of 600 for a 3-hour move, so prepare to double. Given the damage to my belongings and the lack of care in packing them properly, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Live Moving and Storage.
While the initial service during the move itself was satisfactory, the aftermath has left me with a negative impression. I would caution others to carefully consider their options before choosing this company for their moving needs, especially if they have valuable or delicate items that require careful handling. Also, do not pay using Zelle. You won’t be able to get your money back. The 7% credit card fee they charge is worth every penny.
I spent 10 days trying to get just 1/3 of what I paid which they thought was unreasonable but finally agreed to only if I gave them a 5 star review or deleted this review. I refused because I wouldn’t want any other person to be misled by these reviews and get a service like the one I received. They pressure you to give them a 5 star review before opening your boxes and there’s a reason for that…
