I recently moved from my apartment to a new one with Local Motion. The communication throughout the process was excellent, as they called ahead of time to confirm the arrival. The moving crew was professional and efficient, taking great care to wrap all of my furniture to prevent any damage. After loading everything, they drove to my new apartment. One mover began unloading while another transported items to the third mover, who carried them upstairs to my new home.
Once the move was completed, they took the time to explain any concerns and challenges related to the payment. I truly appreciated their hard work, especially during the busy holiday season and in such cold weather!

I wish I had read reviews here before booking with Local Motion. My move was in August of 2024 and I had a very similar negative experience as other customers on this page. They charged me almost double my estimate- the move took almost double their estimate. Yet, my belongings did not exceed the two trucks they estimated. The movers were kind, but slow, messy, and didn't understand English. Several pieces of furniture and boxes were placed in the wrong places due to this and my husband and I ended up moving boxes and furniture all over our new home. Several things were damaged or destroyed in the move- framed pieces of art, several lamp shades cracked, furniture scratched, corners crushed of dressers, etc. There was damage done to walls of the home as well.
The worst thing about all this was how the company handled my concerns afterwards. It's clear to me now that they are used to responding to unhappy customers and do not care about customer satisfaction once they receive their payment. Their responses included such unprofessionalism: personal attacks, inconsistent and incorrect information, and gas lighting. They do not care one bit about happy customers or performing the job they promise, they are just here to collect money.
