Broken stuff, arrived late, unprofessional.
If I could give it a 0 star, I would. Got connected through a 'broker' company - which they really helped us settle things. MAP Moving movers who came to pack our stuff were great - kind, quick and efficient workers. However, once they take your stuff, they are so rude and unprofessional. We were promised a 3-10 day delivery from the first date of availability which we chose. It's been 9 days and we called just to get an update. Customer service was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL, specifically speaking about the representative named RACHEL LEVI. Worst human being I have ever experienced in my life. She yelled over the phone at me, cut me off, even told ME off that I'm rude (I'm the customer paying YOU to do a job). She was screaming and hung up on me without giving me any answers .MAP MOVERS, you need to train your employees better and also work on your business or just disappear over all. Can't stress enough to read reviews before doing business because they speak VOLUME to what the company represents, which in this case is pure trash.
A moving broker subcontracted my move to these guys. Rude and unhelpful from the start. Comes off as an extremely shady operation. You get different stories and instructions from different people, which often contradicted one another. Very poor internal communications. Make sure you protect yourself when providing payment. They give off so many red flags, you can knit a scarf. They are completely unaware of their actions causing anxiety. Its either they just don't care, or willful ignorance. Payment at pickup started off with Zelle, Cashier's check, MO, cash. Paid by Zelle. Driver at pick up said could pay by Zelle at delivery as well. Then next person said, no you can't do any electronic payments and must be Cashier's check made out to MAP Moving, MO or cash. So I went out and bought a cashier's check. the day before delivery, next person says, no, they can't accept a cashier's check and must be MO or cash and to leave MO blank to be filled in by the random driver that shows up (a sub-subcontracted party). Driver shows up and refuses MO and states it must be a cashier's check or cash. Him not speaking any English and having to communicate through Google Translate didn't help much either. After much discussion and his calling boss multiple times, they begrudgingly accepted the money orders. He and his team of two, who were random labor folks (who clearly didn't want to be there) finally unloaded the truck and were not going to re-assemble anything. After many calls again, they finally did so and found out that assembly pieces and tools were missing. Some were found, others were not. In the end, I got my stuff, but was an incredibly frustrating and anxious experience, which could have been easily remedied by consistent communications and setting expectations. Customer Service 101.
Awful awful awful company. You can tell they are terrible because when you call them, they don't speak like they are trying to help you. Their immediate tone is one of being defensive.
We booked with a different company - old school moving and storage - who unbeknownst to us, farmed our move out to this company. Then the company that actually showed up for our move was neither (he was from arrow moving or something like that).
The movers showed up two days after our agreed upon date of move, charged us $1000 beyond our agreed upon price ($3200 instead of $2200), claimed we had more boxes than we said (even though we counted and made multiple calls to make sure), they loaded our stuff in their van and then told us this ridiculous price. They basically held our stuff hostage and left us no choice to pay (oh ya and because they showed up two days late, our lease was up (the day prior actually) so what choice did we have at that point). On top of that, the manager/mover was incredibly rude.
Finally, MAP doesn't prorate storage, so when they tell that you get a month of two of free storage, realize that anything beyond that you will be charged a full month even if its just two weeks, like in our case.
Trash.
