Review:

Spencer came to tune my ca 1893 Howard upright grand probably with dread as it had not been tuned since it had been restored in 1984. It was so bad he had to do two tunings. But OMG! What a beautiful sound comes from it now! Spencer is truly a Master Piano Technician, composer, and performer. I cannot say enough about this talented man. Thank you so much, Spencer. I'm in love again with my piano. The highlight of his visit was his performance of several of his compositions. The piano came to life like it never had before.

Spencer is one of those rare people who is equal parts incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and humble. I was forced to teach college music remotely Fall 2020, and we chose to spend the year living in our vacation lake home. The grand piano had not been used much, and was not functioning well enough to record accompaniments and class demos. In a real bind, I called Spencer to come fix and tune the piano. He came immediately and fixed and tuned, and then spent more time working until the piano sounded absolutely beautiful. My husband couldn't believe it was the same instrument. I have made all of the recordings for both classes and the studio on this piano. Spencer is a marvelous pianist himself, and brings that love to every instrument.

Spencer Brewer is the only one who has tuned my piano since I purchased it in 1986. Several times it has been really out of tune because I waited too long to call him. But he always brings it back to life again and makes it sound amazing. Spencer is a very talented composer and pianist himself and is really in tune with the instrument. I always enjoy getting my piano tuned, as he always plays a piece on it before he leaves to make sure the sound is right. He is professional and does excellent work. I would not have anyone else tune my piano. I highly recommend him!

omg! My fingers are gliding over the keys after Spencer worked on it. Adjusted the action, which completely changes how hard I have to press to get the notes to sound, pulling together the base and treble so that they are a unit. Lovely warm tones on the base and toning down the brights on the treble. And now..... I can play with so much more ease. I am delighted with my 'new piano'. Worth every penny. Thank you, Spencer.

We were fortunate to find Spencer Brewer to help us with our vintage baby grand piano. He turned out to be the right person and was wonderful to work with.

We asked him to evaluate our 109 year old piano, so that we could make some decisions regarding its future.

He gave us so much more information than we thought was possible.

We found out exactly when our Weber was made and that she was a top of the line piano. She is all original and was lightly played, but not by classical musicians or children (he could tell this by the way the keys were lightly worn in certain ways). He knew whether she had been in humidity or a dry climate.

He also filled us in about her architecture and piano architecture of turn of the century.

He told us different stages of possible rehabilitation and the prices.

We decided to have him tune her that day. He played her beforehand and we heard the tone. Then, when he played her after, we heard the remarkable change from honky tone to an entirely different sweet melodic tone. We are intrigued by how much it changed, even with the 100+ years strings and felt hammers not yet being changed.

Spencer is so knowledgeable, and it is clear that he is passionate about his work.

We highly highly recommend him!
