Metal Box Movers

I used these guys for a move, a distraught single mom who lost her living help last minute and booked Metal Box Movers. They were very fast, packed really well that saved space in the truck and were so nice during the whole process. Everything went great and was a huge relief after struggles of moving.

We had a very bad experience. I moved from a two bedroom apartment (with no couch and only one bedroom set) to a town home down the street. This move should have taken 4 hours max. First, I informed them three times that for my apartment complex I had to reserve an elevator and we could only have it for 2 hours. They pushed back their arrival and then arrived late so we were short on time for the elevator which meant furniture didn’t get wrapped before moving to the truck. Only 2 guys came and they were very nice and worked very hard but it was not enough people to complete the move in a reasonable time frame. And they charge by the hour. If I recall correctly it took three hours just to load. Then once at the house, the unloading was super inefficient and slow. When we moved ourselves into our apartment, it took only 45 min-1 hour using two movers from a different company. About six hours into this job, I had them unload everything into the garage and leave. There was lots of damage to my house. I had dings in my walls and ceilings and I had to get a section of stairs fixed and some floorboards fixed. There were dings in my table and a few other smaller items. To their credit, our bedroom set looks perfect and they carried it all the way up to the top floor of our town home. We were hoping for a stress free move but I was stressed the entire time. It was slow, inefficient, and my home and some furniture was damaged. Again, the movers themselves were very nice and worked very hard. But I think because it was an hourly job there was motivation from the company to send fewer guys and take longer. If you are looking for movers I recommend looking for a company that charges for the job in its entirety not by the hour. I will never hire hourly movers again.

These guys are extremely reliable. Michael, the owner, was able to help me at the last minute when the last crew I hired decided not to show up. After talking to Michael I knew I was in good hands and everything was going to be smooth.

The showed up on time, treated everything with care, and were able to get me moved in no time. AAA+++ movers in my book. Manuel, the crew lead, is a furniture moving machine.

I would recommend this moving company 100%. I am a 20 plus yr Customer Service executive. It is difficult to find Service Providers who deliver great customer service experiences these and especially end-to-end. I was in the midst of a personal relocation therefore I did not have the luxuries of a company managed assistance with the recent move. The time of shopping and vetted movers was a shark fest experience; minimum requirement were unreasonable and not flexible to customer profile, rates were overstated and customer service interactions were rude, non empathic nor personalized..sharks justing want dollars. Moving is stressful enough, and to have a moving service provider who is uncaring and overpriced, just adds fire to the move. Metal Box Mover delivered a great experience from the initial conversation with the owner Michael. He listened to my need, which was a moderately small unload, and the storage unit unloading need location was only 15 minutes from his location. He provided me a very reasonable hourly rate, and was flexible with his time to accommodate my need. His two movers, Michael and Nathan, were on time and very personable. There was an issue at the storage unit where my unit was not secured by the reservationist The gentlemen remained pleasant during this time, and continued with this same great demeanor while I was discussing my frustration and trying to find a solution with the storage provider. I had to google around to find a last minute storage company
which was several miles away. The owner helped reduced my stress when he was notified and assured me that his team would work with me and not to worry. The movers followed me to the other storage unit and placed my items wonderfully, never once showing any signs of frustration. Love this company and its team. I see that good ole fashion caring customer service still exist. Metal Box Movers will have my future business and I will shout from the mountain top to others to use them...

Very bad experience to begin with Michael the owner of the company. I was first quoted 3 to 4 hours for a move for my daughter, which took 8 hours costing me double instead of checking with me and saying this is a 3 man job. I don't know if that's how they treat someone who is trying to help his daughter from the phone ou ty of town. Then he never got back to me on damage done from the move after he told my daughter and myself he would. So cost climb more. Will never use their services again
