I have been trying to recover and agreed upon settlement form Mid America Movers Of a meager $75, with the help of the Better Business Bureau to no avail. I would advise doing business with this company. They are not true to their word. I posted previously when they agreed to settle my claim. They have not, but rather wasted time claiming any inaction was my fault. Always check Better Business Ratings first.
The pick up crew was amazing and very careful with my belongings. It wasn't until after they had my stuff that communication with the people on the phone became rude, strained and hard to get in touch with. I waited a week for my belongings in a hotel. On arrival, items were scratched and damaged and immediately I noticed things missing. Parts of my children's bunk beds, and a large box that the original movers had packed holding special antique heirlooms. It's been two full weeks and sadly we noticed that a box filled with my kids' just received Christmas presents and their wallets with cash is not here either. The company has seemingly blocked my number and is not responding to calls, texts, messages and emails, to send the form for damaged and lost items, or to let me know if they found any of the missing items in the storage space they apparently used. This company does not have their own trucks, they were using Pensky trucks. The people who delivered were not who picked up. I am very upset by this experience. Victor, who gave me the quote, had me convinced I was making the best decision.
