Midcities Movers

I highly recommend Midcities Movers! Mark and his crew packed and moved us into an apartment last summer and I was so pleased that I contacted them to move office furniture for our commercial location. I will definitely use them again! They take great care in making sure they handle your property with care and place everything exactly where you want it. These guys are the BEST! Thank you, Mark!

They were okay. My couch had a scratch on it and I felt the man power could have been more. I had to help them with the move because they were moving too slow for. Overall they are okay.

Owner comes to our house and gives us an estimate of $800. He was really nice and assured us he had a full time crew of professional movers and a large truck that would easily fit all our belongings. He said he never uses day laborers.

On the day of the move a small box truck shows up at 0930 AM, the driver a 75 year old guy was the only employee and all he did was drive. The other 2 were day laborers and were extremely unhealthy looking and appeared to be strung out. They just piled and stacked our stuff damaging a lot of it (they were NOT) professional movers.

They only got half our stuff in the truck and told me they didn’t know what to do because they couldn’t get hold of the owner. I ended up calling my brother to come help and I had to go rent a midsize UHaul truck to get the rest of our stuff. The 2 guys were so wore out they sit on the truck and watched us load almost the entire second truck. Come to find out later from the driver the owner had gotten a much larger job where he sent his crew and large truck to and decided to leave me hanging.

Oh it gets better too ! When we get to our new house about 20 miles away these guys want to go eat, understandably so, it’s been 8 hours by this point, but I shouldn’t have to pay the $100 for that hour they were gone, right ? Wrong!!!!

About 1000 PM the guys stop unloading and shut the door to their truck which is still half full of our stuff. They bring me a phone that the owner wants to speak with me. They had already told him they had about 2 hours left and he tells me they were not going to finish unloading until I paid them $1450 in cash. The 8 hour job turned into 14.5 because of the owners actions and now it was all my fault that he had sent 2 guys that weighed about 95 lbs each and couldn’t work more then 10 minutes without taking a break. They were supposed to have reset up all our beds and everything but instead everything was just thrown in the garage.

You can take this for what it’s worth but I sure wish I would’ve read this before ever speaking to this guy. Please find real professional movers, do your homework, moving is stressful enough without dealing with this.

Awesome job. They moved me into my place today and they were very fast and efficient. They had all of the supplies necessary to help me pack as well and were very nice. Will definitely recommend them and will use them again!
