Great customer service.

The facility is very clean and secure. I appreciate that they painted the ugly orange doors of a previous owner a nice blue.

But….

The leasing process was a nightmare for me. . I almost bailed out as it was too hard. It is apparent that the Midguard business model is to buy up storage properties, refurbish them, and operate with NO REPRESENATIVE ON SITE.

As a result, all business is transacted by phone or online. The online process did not allow for a lease option of the renter providing own insurance or to deny 24 hour access. So, I had to contact a person by phone. The 3 different folks I talked with were nice and helpful but it took several days to sort out.

The online Docusign process was so difficult for me that I had to call and have someone walk me through how to fill out the multi page document correctly. Providing my homeowner insurance documentation was another round of phone calls.

Second month free really turned out to be third month free. The add ons of lock rental, admin fee, insurance, and 24 hour access doubled the stated rental fee for the space.

After all if that , the entry code to the gate did not work so I had to pay the moving guys to wait while I contacted someone on the phone to fix the gate opening. I was given a passcode to get access until my code was straightened out. Then there was the matter of having to obtain the lock code……

Despite the barriers to actually leasing a unit, I persevered as the place looked clean, well maintained, and secure. At some point, Midguard should review the actual lease process and streamline the process to make customer friendly.

Great experience at Hopewell Anderson location. Devin Hamilton was very helpful. Property well maintained. Kiosk quick and handy.
