We had a great experience today while renting a storage unit for my mother. Jamie, the other one :), provided excellent customer service! She went above and beyond to make sure all our questions were answered. She is a great example of what I want my students to learn. As a career tech teacher, experiences like this are great examples to share with my students to teach them the soft skills they need for employment.
We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. We had storage pro for a year and a half and had no problems. Mini mall took over and have proven they don’t care about the customers. They raised the temperatures on the climate controlled units, and they don’t treat for bugs like they should. We checked our unit regularly and all of a sudden a couple months after mini mall took over our unit had bugs!!! So if you are in the building close to the used car dealership better check your units. Bugs and ants. It is sad that they charge more and make less effort to take care of our belongings. I don’t think the local staff are the problem. They have always been helpful.
DO NOT RENT HERE! My husband’s card number was used fraudulently and then replaced, we forgot the autopay for storage was set on that card and missed a payment. When my husband told me he had received a text, I logged in to catch up March and pay April. They had charged me $176 in fees/late fees for a unit was just 35 days past due. That equates to $5 a day. To make matters worse I could no longer process a payment online it told me the account was too far past due. I called multiple times to speak to someone about the outrageous fees but could only get a corporate call center, stopped by and no one was there. I finally was able to reach someone to pay today. I ended up paying $311.42 for something that would have usually been $67.50 per month or $135 for two months. I have no problem paying late fees if I make a mistake, but this is crazy! I could be reading it wrong but it appears that AL Code 8-14-55 lists reasonable late fees for self storage facilities, maybe read this first and do yourself a favor, rent storage anywhere else but here! **I’ve included a copy of the receipt so you can see it was just 1 month missed and the current months payment. All personal information including unit # has been removed**
The staff at Mini Mall Storage was the most pleasant and helpful people that I have ever dealt with. The storage units were nice & well kept. We never went there without seeing someone cleaning or working in some way to keep the place safe and clean. We appreciate everyone that worked there and have told our friends and family where to go if they ever need a place to store anything. Best wishes to all these good people. We were able to create extra space in our garage with a 10′ x 10′ storage unit.
From Storage Pro to Storage Greed! Zero stars if I could. What was once a great, reasonably priced, normal storage operation has now turned into your present-day corporate sleaze operation. What is now Mini Mall storage has completely ruined this storage business overnight. After Mini Mall came in and bought out Storage Pro, my monthly rate nearly doubled overnight, and it is riddled with ridiculous fees and absurd policies. These new monthly fees include an Administration fee (5.99), Carbon fee (1.79), Facility Management fee (6.99), and a Payment Processing fee (3.99)....all on top of the monthly rental prices. What is a Carbon fee you ask? Well I called and asked the manager and she didn't have a clue. Unbelievable. Also, another thing to highlight, they are now going to 'Cashless Properties.' Okay, no big deal, electronic payments are now a norm in today's world. But, there's a catch: the Payment Processing fee. Because they are going cashless, that means there is no way to avoid paying this fee. You HAVE to pay with electronic payment and you HAVE to pay the processing fee. You will not be able to submit any other form of payment to avoid the fee. To continue adding to the absurdities, the email they sent out with the new contract states 'Please note, that from 30 days of receiving this notice your new rental agreement will be considered active with or without consent.' Not even sure that's legal but what a fantastic business model! Let's force the hand of our customers to comply with ridiculous, greedy policies! Please, please, please, if you are looking for storage, do not support such an operation and take your business elsewhere.
