Motivated Movers

Had a 'confirmed' move for Saturday May 15th. Rented the truck. Movers never showed. I called and called and called -- no answer, and voicemail is full. Sent emails -- no response. Movers are a no-show. 'Motivated' is really not all that motivated.

While the movers were quick with moving, the owner was mad I didn't rent a truck to move. I made the person I made the appointment with aware that I was moving down the block and told her I don't drive. She reassured me that it wouldn't be a problem. All he did the entire time was make me aware how 'lucky' I was that he had his truck with him.

Then it came to move my table. My $700 marble table. I instructed the movers to use the Allen key I provide them to disassemble the table the top part from the bottom. This was not done. The mover who caused this damage came to me to show me and told me how it happened. I immediately texted the person I made the appt with and she said she'd call Chad. The movers finished the work, I was charged $375 for 2 hours of work, and when I asked Chad what they intended on doing about the table he replied: 'nothing, just use liquid nail.'

Because I found these movers on the what I thought was a reputable site (U-Haul), I messaged them after this happened. They informed me these movers are NOT insured and this is likely why they wouldn't reimburse me for the table they just ruined.
