Best moving company hands down. They service all of alabama, the price rates are unbeatable for the good quality service. The movers are quick and very efficient. The receptionist was super helpful and made booking my move really easy. I would recommend move gurus to anyone that needs a move done.

Review:

This company does not operate like a professional mover. Movers arrived one hour earlier than scheduled. No one had taken the time to see what items needed to be moved. In the middle of the move I was told they needed more help and more trucks. This is when the owner showed up. Several pieces of my furniture had nicks. The movers placed boxes and a space heater on the top of my bedroom dresser and chest. We were told to call to arrange for a repair person and/or a price adjustment. I left a message with Lief who has not bothered to call. I would like to say I will use them again., but I just cannot in all honesty recommend this company.

Review:

Super surprised at the mostly 5 star reviews: I'm pretty certain that I ended up with their bottom-of-the-barrel movers. I initially had a fantastic experience on the phone - super easy to book, personable and efficient service on the phone. I was a single woman moving from an apartment into a house and had several issues right off the bat: when the two movers showed up, they were much younger than I expected - one appeared to be about 19 and the other early to mid 20s - and wouldn't look me in the eye and communicated in monosyllables and literally didn't respond to my questions or statements addressed to them for the first 7 minutes. Didn't shake my hand or offer their names. They ended up being nice guys, don't get me wrong - zero bad vibes as far as treating a woman - but it was a bizarre and silent way to start. Once they actually started moving boxes they loosened way up and communicated normally after that and were pleasant and polite. They packed the truck well and worked steadily at carrying and loading, and were able to lift very heavy things. But they haphazardly unpacked at the destination, leaving a chaotic mess instead of taking the additional 15 seconds to stack the bins and keep everything in a contained space. The younger one (both seemed inexperienced but he was particularly obviously raw) tried to unload using a dolly down a very steep ramp incline, lost control, and knocked a bin containing my expensive barware/glassware completely off the ramp. Thank GOD I had wrapped it all well and wrapped each glass individually, otherwise half the bin would have broken. Overall, my very strong sense is that when the intake person on the phone heard that I was moving out of an apartment and didn't have large furniture, she sent their lowest-tier movers. I had a lot of very heavy bins and wanted a quick, efficient move, which wasn't what I got - took longer than it really needed to and was overall, a mediocre experience. I might book with the again as there's not a ton of reliable options, but would insist on knowing the age and experience of my movers beforehand, and would make sure that I moved more items myself beforehand so I didn't have to go into hour 3 and pay more.
