Seriously the best moving experience of my life. I was very nervous about the process as Move Happy was hired as an agent by my moving company to receive, deliver and unpack at my new address, and I had no idea who they were.

All I can say is WOW. They handled my personal items with the utmost care and professionalism and made sure to not bang walls or counters. Everything was unpacked carefully and patiently. They were extremely organized.

Ask to have Tim Conner on your job. He was my foreman. THE BEST! Thank you so much Tim and your crew!

BEWARE, TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. SENT THEIR PEOPLE OUT TO DO AN ON-SITE SURVEYAND GAVE ME A ' BINDING QUOTE' WHICH WAS LATER VERIFIED BY THEIR AGENTALEX IN CALIFORNIA. THEN AFTER PICKING UP ALL OF MY VALUABLES THEY AMENDED THE 'BINDING QUOTE' BY AN ADDITIONAL $10,000. NO RESPONSE FROM MY SALES AGENT ALEX IN CALIFORNIA DESPITE NUMEROUS CALLS AND EMAILS. SO MUCH FOR A BINDING QUOTE. GO WITH ONE OF THE BIGGER COMPANIES LIKE COLEMAN HAWAII OR ROYAL HAWAIIAN. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW IFTHE SITUATION IS REMEDIED

Heads up to anyone using Move Happy…the pick up of our items was pretty smooth, no issues really. The delivery time frame was as quote. I was told our stuff was to arrive between the 17th and 30th…wide time frame, but fine. Today the 24th, I get a text saying our stuff is ready and asked if I can receive it tomorrow the 25th. Now, unless I’m out of touch, that’s not really a normal time frame to work with and try and reserve our elevator in a high rise to receive 40 boxes. I called our management to see what was available, finally got a date and time that would work for both parties…but then was told since I could not receive our boxes on the day they provided for which was tomorrow (again, no lead time) that now I’d have to incur a $200 moving and handling fee since our boxes were in front of other boxes in the container that needed to be delivered. Even though that was stated in the contract that we’d be on the hook to pay if we could not receive the boxes in the time they provided…how bad of a customer service is it when they tell you only a day before they intend to move and it’s almost impossible to reserve our elevator. I called and stated that it’s bad practice that now I’m responsible to pay to move our boxes out of the way because I was not given enough time to coordinate a elevator reservation. I asked him if there was something in the contract stating that a certain amount of time should be provided to customer to secure a reservation…one day does not cut it. I asked if they could speak to the manager because this was ridiculous…I only ended up getting $50 knocked off…because we need our packages I’m at their mercy….it’s not so much the money issue as it is a matter principle. Now I’m not accusing them of anything but how do I know that they aren’t stating this to every customer and collecting a little extra from everyone because they know we needed our belonging…just keep in mind you may have to incur another $200 in your move quote.

Also, I felt communication was a bit hit or miss after money and items were collected…prior to that and them wanting your business, communication seemed more consistent. Very interesting the correlation…overall this business could benefit from some slight improvements and better transparently up front.

Would not recommend this company. They will actively screen your calls and choose not to pick up. They will lose your items. Go with a different company, even if you have to pay more.

I used them for my move from Hawaii to Texas. The movers came and packaged up my belongings and I thought all was good. However, they did not give me the chance to check over the inventory before they left. If you are using this company, check over everything and make sure it is scanned into their system, even if they brush you off. The movers did scratch my wall and when I told Miguel, he said he would send over claim paperwork but never sent it. He then became unreachable for a couple of weeks. Thankfully I took care of the scratch and my apartment didn't charge so I let it go.

On the day of delivery, the driver said he would not fit into a space that could clearly fit. I called the main phone number and was told that I wasn't being charged anything but they would have dispatch call. No one called. The driver deemed that he would now charge me 3.5 units of 'long haul' with the prices of $75 per unit (this included walking from the elevator to my apartment). I called the main company phone number since this was not previously discussed and no one picked up over 2 hours. Curious, I had my friend conference call - they picked up on the first try. The call got disconnected when I spoke and that friend was not able to get through again. After trying for another 15 mins, I had another friend call. They picked up immediately and she told them that I had been trying for 2 hours. They said 'tell her to call, we will pick up now.' They did pick up, but then had to transfer me to someone else. Surprise, surprise - that person didn't pick up. The movers required payment before moving so I had to give in and pay them. Note - a rep emailed me immediately on receiving payment but wouldn't respond to an email.

The movers were an elderly couple that took almost four hours to move 1.5 hours worth of stuff at most. At this point it is almost 9pm I told them to go as it was late but I noticed that parts of my bed were missing. I wrote down tatami mat was missing, but they took it away before I finished.
I had a Japanese bed which included headboard, bedframe, slats, tatami mat and futon. The tatami mat, futon and parts of the bed frame did not make it. They said that they did not have record of the tatami mat or futon, but would compensate me $30 for the bed frame. $30 for a $1500 bed frame. Make it make sense.

I know that they compensate based on weight and yes it is what it is, its their policy. However, it is sad that companies have no accountability to their customers and take no responsibility when things go wrong. You pay thousands of dollars for your items already, please pay a little extra for another company to ship your items.

When I moved to Hawaii I used Royal Hawaiian Movers. I had no issues whatsoever. I tried to use them again but they were all booked with military moves. Please plan your movers early enough that you don't fall into the same situation as me. Not only did I spend the money on the move, but also need to spend money replacing all the missing items, which will easily be $2000. Also, for the amount that you will spend, you deserve to work with a company that will pick up the phone when you call. I attempted to call Jose right after he sent me the email about $30 settlement. Did he pick up? No. And its not just Jose. Miguel, Jonathan, Nathan, etc etc they are all the same.

Edit: got a hold of Jose! He stated that they will look for the items one more time. I will update if my lost items are found.

Pick up in Hawaii went fine but when the items arrived on the mainland, half the boxes (which were brand new) were destroyed and several of my items broken to pieces. And they only pay $.60 per pound for broken items, so if you have glass carefully packaged in tons of bubble wrap, too bad being able to replace them, especially if they are of any sentimental value. In addition, the delivery driver was extremely rude. Many weeks after the shipment was picked up, I got no advance notice that he was coming and he called and left 2 messages for me 15 minutes apart. He just said I'm from the moving company with your shipment, call me to give me the address. At first I thought it was a scam because he didn't identify the name of the moving company or any other info that he should already know. On the second message 15 minutes later, he started yelling that I wouldn't return his calls so my shipment was going to be returned. When I called him back about an hour later (I was working so couldn't take his original calls), he yelled at me again and then complained that he couldn't deliver to my location because there was no where to park. He finally parked where I originally told him to which is in the alley behind my apartment building and he kept yelling at me on the phone until he got to my door. It was so strange and unprofessional.
