We were originally quoted for a 5 hour move, our move ended up taking 9 hours. During the drive between houses the movers were MIA an extra hour and it wasn’t until I called dispatch that they informed me of that.

I agreed to the cost and time of the move via messaging on Yelp. I provided a list of large items and then informed them of a high # of boxes. They informed me all contracts would be given at the move, but if we went over time it would be an extra X dollars per hour, which was fine. I thought their 5 hour goal was lofty and estimated it would probably be 1-2 hours over, not 4. When the movers arrived (past the ETA) I was given 3 contracts. One of them was a list of what I’d need to pay if they had to use certain supplies…this would have been EXTREMELY helpful to have prior as we did not know their expectations of our packing. We had a lot of small boxes/items that were very fragile. There were some items we tried to ask them to not use packing materials on as we felt they wasted time or did more harm than good but were told we had to for their insurance. For example they used 18 rolls of tape at $4/piece. Their tape jobs were questionable at best.

In the end…
- 9 hours to move vs 5.
- $562 worth of supplies that they felt they needed to use.
- We had a large number of boxes end up on the wrong floor due to communication issues with the movers.
- Our move ended up costing nearly double what we were originally quoted + tip

We’ve so far been dealing with the boxes in the wrong places and multiple knicked items and a completely ruined shelf that goes inside a glass cabinet they taped it which then caused the paint to rip off of it.

So far Movers To Go covered 1 of the 9 hours of the move (as it was because of their excessive drive time) and 20% of the moving materials ($112.) They offered to come move items inside the house for free but it was boxes that were in the wrong place and not furniture and we frankly did not want them back. They have rectified damaged items.
