Review:

Though thw packers/movers were polite and pleasant, I am completely disappointed with the services provided. I had to arrange a move for my 76 y/o mother and the process became an ongoing nightmare. I originally asked for a visit to assure an accurate estimate of time and resources, yet I received a verbal assurance that my description of furniture and items was enough. Even though the move was only two miles, I requested assistance in packing my mother at the quoted prices due to her frailty and health issues. Two packer/movers were assigned and arrived behind schedule the day of the move. However, they took several hours wrapping individual dishes and small items which could have been consolidated into bundles to allow efficiency. They started at 10am, took an hour and a half lunch, and did not finish packing until the evening when they called me in Texas to inform me that they needed to start moving the items to the new residence. They moved the items and did not finish unloading until after 2am in the following morning. Needless to say, my elderly mother was distraught and overwhelmed at the lengthy and incomplete process. The primary mover, Mason, stated that the business side of the move was complete and that one of the movers could return the following day with a friend to help unpack on his own time, not associated with the business. I later discovered that only about 70% of the residence was actually moved. A full walk-in closet with hundreds of pounds in clothing and shoes was ignored. A large cabinet in the laundry room was left full of items along with at least three smaller pieces of furniture and random items in the residence. Though the move was not completed, and the time was squandered on an hourly rate of wrapping individual dishes along with statements like 'we are slow because we are careful', I was charged $1505 for the 15 hours and informed I was being given a discount from the $1650 charge I should have been charged. This was because my elderly mother talked a lot and kept the movers distracted according to them. A refrigerator that was known prior to need moving required additional time and this could have been noted in advance if the requested estimate after a visual was granted.

The mover and their friend returned the following day and was placed in an awkward position of trying to correct the incompletion but aided in unpacking the kitchen boxes with the heavily wrapped dishware. After another $400 and five hours, they left unable to complete this task fully. This resulted in an incomplete move requiring my elderly mother to shuttle small trips of clothing and gain assistance from neighbors to try to finish this move. I hope no others have to experience this level of frustration and failure if hiring Moving Associates. Their reviews suggest this was an anomaly, but I expected more from my hometown that once took pride in integrity, work ethic, and finishing what they started.

Had a great moving experience on August 11th from TN to SC. We started the day at 9am and ended it at 6pm for a two bedroom move. Communication before, during and after (e.g., requesting an invoice for reimbursement purposes) the move was impeccable. Highly recommend!

The office people were very easy to deal with. They clearly explain the process and there were no surprises along the way. Then the folks who did the actual moving were on time, hard-working, friendly, and very professional. I would not hesitate to use Moving Associates again if the need ever should arise.
