Also known as National Moving Services. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! A family member was helping with our cross country moving logistics and found this company. It seemed reputable and professional, but all they do is broker out your move!
I have moved previously with my company who hired the Ferrari of movers, but I was doing this move on my own $$ so we tried to keep expenses low on this move. We hired “National Moving” to assist in PACKING, BOXING and physically driving our 1,200 sq ft 2 bed, 2 bath condo. On the day of our move, they sent TWO people. I was expecting them to send at least 4-6. I was shocked. It took my husband and the 2 movers 13 hrs to package everything up (I wasn’t physically there to help). The 2 movers were so unprofessional - it’s not even worth getting into the details on that.
This turned out to be a moderately priced move. $7500 to get from TN to CT. I would have paid 1.5x that amount for Wheaton, United Vanlines, etc to handle this move knowing what I know now.
I put an Apple AirTag in 1 of our boxes and saw that our stuff was actually driven to MO (the total opposite direction of TN to CT) and I was fuming. “National moving” assured us that our stuff would NOT be consolidated with another household’s goods and this ended up happening to us anyways.
Several boxes were missing, too many irreplaceable items were damaged. I couldn’t even submit a claim because of how sketchy the requirements were to submit the claim.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANIES SERVICES.
Never contact Frank Lucindo/Nationwide Moving Group in Delray FL. They lied to me about the shipping costs and had another moving company lose over $7,700 of my furniture. After Frank Lucindo lost in Palm Beach Small Claims Court, he never paid the amount ordered by the Judge.
I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I contracted w/Nationwide aka Amerisafe a broker for Cobra Van Lines. I dealt w/Dean. Dean wanted to do my estimate despite me telling him I was trying to sell several large items, but he informed me that this was just an estimate & I would only be billed for the actual cu.ft I had on the day of my move & that I would be refunded if I had less cu.ft than on my estimate & billed if I ended up having more than the cu.ft that was estimated. This was discussed on several calls w/ Dean. They have recorded calls, so they should have records of this. He initially estimated 3001 cu.ft. On the day of the move, I was told by Gio, the mover/foreman that I had 2450 cu.ft, but would need to go to Amerisafe for the refund because it was contracted through them. Gio wrote 3001 on the Bill of Lading & I questioned him & he said that it was policy for them to fill the BOL out with the information from the estimate. Now Amerisafe is refusing to issue me my refund of $1,515.25 because I signed a BOL (Based On Lies) & it had the contracted cubic feet on it of 3001 cubic feet. I have a photo of the load before they pulled away & you can calculate the cu.ft by the E-Tracks inside the trailer. Load ended @32 ft of the trailer. 32x8.5x9= 2448 (2450 rounded). We also contracted Amerisafe because we were told they could move our 900lb safe. When the 4 people hired from CraigsList showed up it was clear none had moving experience. They did not have the skills nor the equipment to get the safe into the house. It was left right in front of my garage door & we can’t park in it now. I was told they would cover the expenses of moving the safe, & now they are refusing. Would have had it placed elsewhere if I hadn’t been lied to. Now all of the lies told by Amerisafe & CVL are coming to surface. We cannot get Dean from Amerisafe to answer his phone or return our calls, he’s screening them I’m sure. We are attempting to resolve this amicably, but are willing to take the next steps if we are not treated fairly. If they think I’m just going to let this go, they are sadly mistaken. They messed with the wrong person.
First, this is my fault, I signed the contract. That said, these guys are dishonest and predatory. They use various names: Amerisafe, NW Moving, National Moving Services. Their smooth-talking salesman will tell you they are the number one rated moving company according to consumer voice. What they don’t tell you is that they paid for that rating; the more you pay, the higher the rating. When I asked what consumer voice was, he said it’s like consumer reports. NOT. He said my move would be $7,500 which sounded good, but the deal was only good for today, and I had to put $3,500 down. Don’t do it, said a voice in my head. I did it. This was more than two and a half months before the move. Then 10 days later, everything changed, and the move had to be cancelled.
I called the salesman, and he texted me a link. I started to search and quickly realized I was screwed. I called my credit card company and blocked the charge. Later I got a call from someone who said they would offer me a $700 refund (out of $3,500) if I didn’t charge back on my cc. I said that’s not fair, and his response was “you signed, and you will lose, I’ve done this hundreds of times.” Hundreds of times? This is their business model, and he was right. The credit card company ultimately recharged me, and I lost. When I called Amerisafe back, they refused (rudely) to give me any refund. It’s my fault and I feel like an idiot, but they are unethical and predatory.
They are not accredited by the BBB although they have a grade of B (not sure how) since they have 18 complaints filed against them with the Dept. of Transportation.
On the Consumer Affairs web site, 54% of the 164 reviews for Amerisafe Movers are one star. Horrible!
On the Better Business Bureau web site, Amerisafe has checked all the boxes that the BBB advise consumers should avoid, specifically, and I quote:
No Large Deposits Upfront
•Reputable movers won’t demand cash or large deposits before the move.
•Be wary of movers who provide estimates without inspecting your belongings.
Be Skeptical of Name Changes:
•Some companies operate under multiple names to avoid scrutiny.
Tricks deceptive movers use:
•Professional and reassuring demeanor on the telephone. As with deceptive telemarketers, they are trained to sound believable. It is much more difficult to detect a dishonest telemarketer or a person’s deceptive intent than many consumers realize.
•Sponsored links so they appear at the top of search results, often using the names of legitimate movers as search terms in order to steal web traffic.
•Below-market price quotes with the intent to get more money from victims later in the process.
•Fake reviews from happy customers.
•Generic-sounding business names similar to those of reputable movers.
•Claims of being in business for many years, suggesting that they have experience and incentive to treat customers professionally or risk losing their reputations.
•Fake claims of BBB Accreditation and the use of other trust seals online.
•Collaboration with other online sites that find movers for customers and post phony reviews.
•Illegal use of moving association logos and seals on their websites.
•Watch out for large deposit or cash demands. Other than a small down payment, honest movers don’t have you pay until after they have delivered goods. So if the mover demands that you pay during the course of a move or when loading or delivering, you are dealing with a scammer.
And what's up with all these companies operating out of Delray Beach, Florida. Maybe a coincidence but seems shady.
Avoid this company! Run Forrest Run!!!
Nightmarish Encounter with AmeriSafe Moving Company (formally Nationwide Moving Services Inc.)
BEWARE! They are a broker and hire third party moving companies to move your items. Please DO NOT use them. It is worth paying company to direct ship once your items are picked up. Otherwise they bring your items to a hub and store it until it is convenient for them to ship it.
I recently had the displeasure of dealing with AmeriSafe Moving Company, and unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The issues I encountered spanned across various aspects of their service, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied.
First and foremost, the customer service I received was subpar at best. The representatives seemed disinterested and lacked the professionalism one would expect from a moving company. It felt like my concerns were brushed aside, and communication was often unclear and unhelpful.
Moreover, I was dismayed by the company's dishonesty regarding the status of my moving items. Promises were made about the promptness of the delivery, but it turned out to be nothing more than empty words. The lack of transparency regarding the actual whereabouts of my belongings left me feeling deceived and betrayed.
To add to the frustration, the delivery of my items was significantly delayed. Despite assurances of a timely delivery, I found myself waiting for an extended period. The lateness not only inconvenienced me but also disrupted my plans, causing unnecessary stress and hassle.
As if these issues weren't enough, the acting manager I had the displeasure of interacting with was a complete douchebag. He was argumentative, hostile, and refused to let us express our concerns as customers. This unprofessional behavior only exacerbated the already dire situation and showcased a complete lack of respect for customers.
On top of all these issues, communicating with AmeriSafe Moving Company through email and phone proved to be an additional challenge. Their spelling and grammar were horrendous, and their lack of english made it difficult to understand their messages. This lack of attention to detail further contributed to the overall unprofessionalism of the company.
I should also note that they choose and fail to provide any additional price information for add-ons over the phone, and is written only in the contract. If you have steps, they charge you for every 7-steps. If the truck cannot reach your property within a certain amount of feet, they will also charge you a significant fee for that as well.
Their only saving grace were the truck drivers/movers who actually did their job and delivered.
Overall, my experience with AmeriSafe Moving Company was marked by bad customer service, dishonesty about the status of my moving items, an unacceptable delay in delivery, and an acting manager who was a complete douchebag—argumentative, hostile, and unwilling to let us voice our concerns as customers. I would strongly advise against choosing their services and urge others to explore alternative options to avoid the distress that I unfortunately had to endure.
