Continued to push their arrival time every hour until it conveniently became an emergency for me to justify their price gouging.

My moving company could not fit my couch through the door and had to leave it behind, so I needed an emergency mover to disassemble/reassemble. Mind you, my entire apt move was only $535 total.

They said they'd arrive from 10-1. Im waiting at my EMPTY (no electric or water) apartment for 2.5 hours when I get a text that they wont be there till 3pm. Fine. 2pm rolls around, I check if theyre still going to be there at 3pm.

When it hits 3:30 they say no, it will now be 5pm. Shitty, so I leave and decide I'll come back later. I wish I had called another company at this point. I come back to my old apt again at 6:30 and check their eta, they say sorry it'll be 7:30...

At 7pm I get a text that they're 59 minutes away according to Google Maps (this was a lie). 40 minutes later, they text saying that they're crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. Im baffled, because if they were really 59 minutes away, they would have been deep into Brookyln already. If theyre at the Brooklyn Bridge, theyre at least another 40-50 min away. It's 7:40 at this point.

I'm waiting till 8:30 when I get another text, saying they're at a cross street that's about a 10 minute drive from me. Another BLATANT lie. It hits 9pm (no traffic or road closures, mind you. They arrive at 9:20pm.

These scam artists were likely never stuck in traffic in Manhattan, they were never 'on their way'. They waited with their thumbs up their bums, wasting ELEVEN HOURS of my time so they could make this even more of an emergency for me to justify their price gouging.

They get there and say it'll be $850. EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS.

My ENTIRE APARTMENT MOVE was only 535. This is JUST a couch with NO CUSHIONS (img below from that morning). All they had to do was take the arms off.

Naturally, I went off on them. Absolutely INSANE price-gouging. I had been quoted 400-600 that morning, and they nearly tried doubling it. I got them down to 700, which is STILL insanely unreasonable. I lived on the second floor and was moving to a building with a massive elevator -- they didnt need to take the stairs at all.

These people are SCAM ARTISTS. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE

Scam artist. He quoted us $400-550, then told us it was going to be $1,100 AFTER the job. I was able to talk him down several times after arguing to $800, but I am still very disappointed and feel taken advantage of. He is a liar and very unethical to put us in that situation after he finished the job.

Quoted me $450-$850 before services rendered depending on how much disassembly was required and they ended up being able to put the entire couch in through the window in about an hour. After all was done he said $850 because “it would have been easier to take apart the couch than deal with the window”.
Do not go with this company.

Sal completely price gauged, ripped us off, and was beyond unclear throughout the process. What a colossal upset, and looking at the reviews, a lot of other people feel the same way. Over the phone, I told Sal I wouldn’t be on site and the building manager would meet him, since I’ll be at work. I sent him photos of the couch + rug, as well as said he / anyone from his team his welcome to keep the items. For disassembly and safe disposal, Sal estimated $450 - $750. I asked if he wanted me to complete payment before or after and he said after, no worries. Sal calls me 15x when I’m at a work meeting saying his guys are on site, and if I don’t respond in the next 10 minutes with payment, he is sending them home. I even offered to pay before officially booking the service, but figured he wanted to see how much work it would take. Sal then demanded $827 because of “tax” which was never mentioned on the phone. So not only did he pick the high range of the estimate, but didn’t let me know about the tax. And because he did not specify I had to pay before, I assumed I’d take care of it after once they had to assess how much work had to be done. Finally, they said the higher charge was for “disposal” and then told me they’re leaving the couch and rug on the street curb. Price gouging and unclear process, and no sense of manners or customer service. Will never use again!

Mike and his assistant completed the job, although it was quite extensive. We had two large sofas that we needed to disassemble downstairs move the pieces and reassemble in the apartment. They did a great job and the finish was perfect. The only thing that does not give them five stars is the price.
