I waited a few days so that I could better reflect on the horrific experience that we went through with Lyle Moving and Storage and of course North American Van Lines. While i have always said that each story tends to have three sides...I promise to all who may read this the unbelished truth. It started as all do with an in house estimate. Pleasant fellow very thorough and meticulous. He told my wife and I that he won a reward as the most accurate estimator nation wide. We agreed to the estimate but were told that should we sell or donate some items that we would pay less. Before the assigned move date of October 8th we sold a living room couch...a leather couch and love seat and many other heavy items. I am sure that we probably shed 1000 of the estimated 11000 pounds. We were told that the move would begin at 7 30 AM...unfortunately they didn't show up until 9 30 AM. That alone of course is nothing but a minor irritation. From all appearances the men were quite skilled at packing and did a good job. The move was supposed to be completed by 2 30 per the captain of the crew. We had several people over from our church to help clean and say goodbye. At 1 45 PM they offered to lock up and clean up so we could make our drive the first night to Boise. Grateful we agreed and left. Around 5 00PM we got a call from a couple who were among those who had come to assist us. The movers couldn't get all the items...greatly reduced from the original estimate on the truck. They began unloading about 1/3 of the items back into our old garage. This would mean that this same friends would have to come back the next day to unlock the home for the movers to complete the job that was supposed to be done the day before at 2 30 PM. This was of course terribly upsetting to us and emotionally embarrassed by the added favor it involved. Finally around noon the next day our now two day move was complete. We were told that the longest date for delivery which was out of state would be Friday October 18th. We made arrangements for help on that day. Unfortunately once again the story got move convoluted. The captain it seems got covid...that is both understandable and unfortunate for the individual. It seems that he is the only driver North American had at its disposal nationwide as no other driver could help out. Now we were put off until Monday the 21st of October. Finally we got our belongings except for the 1/3 that was left behind. That load didn't come until Friday the 25th. Many items were broken and destroyed probably as a direct result of loading and unloading many times. If I wanted any type of compensation then it was up to us to prove negligence on the behalf of the company to their own investigators. Bottom line is...do not put yourself and your family in harms way by risk using this company even if the bid is cheaper than someone else. The lies mismanagement and grief is simply not close to worth it. Please pick another company for your own well being. Moving is far to stressful to encounter such terrible people that you are paying to theoretically take the burden off you.

Movers did a really good job, with a few little issues. Generally we were very happy with everything.

Giving this a two because of what seems of poor record keeping. After delivery and being paid in full, the office contacts me a week later saying they want another nearly $500 for “extra services”. After rounds of emails back and forth and sharing my contract they admit of “human error” as it was services already in my quote.

Outside of that; estimate was 1,000 lbs over, labor was unmotivated on their phones / watching sports. Only positive I can give is the driver was top notch.
