Review:

Contacted Olympic Moving and spoke with Chase over a month ago to schedule a long distance move which included transporting an additional vehicle. He mentioned that they would be able to do that with no problem I paid the first deposit. A few weeks leading up to the move we had to make a change, and they accommodated, and I paid a second deposit especially since we had special moving requests for a few of our items. A few days leading up to my move I had a medical emergency with my spouse and needed to push the move out 4-5 days. They accommodated. We agreed to allow them to pack us up the day before and meet us at the new location.

Loading day came. I was heading back to the residence from checking on my spouse at the hospital. I did a walk through the residence with Chase, and he immediately saw how many boxes were there and decided to increase the price on the spot. That rubbed me the wrong way as most of the items were packed up in U-Haul boxes minus the awkwardly shaped items. I obliged as I needed to get out of that residence as soon as possible. I provided Chase with instructions on what was needed and to use specific tools to make sure no items were damaged during the move. I paid for the remainder of the move including the increased amount in cash.

I needed to run an errand and advised that they were welcomed to the beverages and snacks available in the home. They appreciated it. When I came back, I saw empty water bottles, wrappers and crumbs all over the counter. I immediately started cleaning it up as I didn't want to leave the residence trashed. I went around picking up items all around the residence to make sure nothing was missed. There were a couple of items that reiterated that needed to be moved and the obliged with hesitation. They finished packing up the truck. They told me that they would meet me at my new location between 10:00AM to 12:00PM the next day.

The next day came, and my spouse was released from the hospital. I notified Chase that I was running a couple hours behind as I just picked up my spouse. Chase asked when I would be there as the crew was getting closer to the location. I knew I was still far away and provided them with the code to get into the residence. He mentioned that the crew was going to stop to eat and would be at the residence once they finished. Finally, I arrived at the residence, and they were there unloading the items into the townhouse. They did the living room, dining room and master bedroom perfectly fine. However, everything else was just placed in whatever room even though there were labels on the boxes. Fragile items were placed underneath heavy items.

I started opening items that were immediately needed and noticed that the TV and sound bar mount was left back at my previous residence. Then I noticed that one of my expensive lamps were broken. I reached out to Chase, and he proceeded to tell me that they were on vacation for the holidays. Moral of the story is, be sure to get the correct pricing up front as the original quote increased by double. Also, make sure to watch the crew to ensure that your special requests are being met. This company does make posts on social media to searching for more manpower whenever they have a huge job which means that customers may get random people moving their items. Again, I’m not going to make a fuss about something when they are in possession of my items. I did not tip because the last-minute increased amount was the crew’s tip. So, they can get that from Chase himself. In all, the total amount that I should be refunded due to the negligence of leaving items behind or items being broken would be:

Review:

Great experience. Price was good, and didn't change, unlike some of the companies that will scam you. Put pad with shrink wrap on everything to prevent damage. Very friendly and efficient. Patient when we changed our mind about which room to unload something a couple of times. I'd use them again, and would recommend them.
