One Way Van Lines

Stay away from this company. First, the communication between myself and the company was terrible. Secondly, when they did arrive my marble table was damaged, the boxes were all torn up. Oh did I mention my dogs ashes came up missing as well. There were a few things that I notice that were missing. Remind you they charge me more to pack my table. They charge me a packing material fee for the marble table. So from what I can tell, it was just carelessness on the movers part. I have submitted a claim about 30 days ago and I was told that they have up to 120 days for them to make a decision. Um, the company clearly broke the table while moving it so why should I wait 120 days. When the movers moved the items out they took pictures of the items and the table.

This company is very disorganized and unprofessional. Keep in mind City Moving Group was the original company I contracted with but they subcontracted One Way Van Lines. City Moving Group gave me one price and then after One Way Van Lines picked my items up they gave me another price.

I used One Way Van lines to move from GA to MN. When they came to pick up everything, I gave my first delivery date of June 20. They called me on June 21 and asked what was my first delivery date. I said I gave it to the movers and is on the paperwork that I signed and they took. She double checked and said they did not have record of a delivery date. After they picked up my stuff, the nightmare continued. All of my stuff was brought to their Maryland warehouse where it sat for around 30 days. I called multiple times and all I got was either 'no update' or 'still working on the route' They finally called me to say my stuff was going to arrive in a couple of days. I asked if there would be any compensation because it was well beyond the 30 days as written in the contract. The person said that the amount they had was the same regardless of how long it took to deliver. When my items arrived, a lot of things were damaged and everything was just left in my living room. They only brought my work desk to my bedroom. I included pictures of some of the damaged items. Don't trust anything they say over the phone or even what is written in the contract!

This “company” should be put out of business. Not a single person on the office side or the actual moving side has been helpful. We were put in with this “company” by Landmark Moving and Storage (another scam of a business). We were told our things would be at our new place in Florida within five days of being packed up. Her we are on day 4 of 5 and called to get an update only to be told “5 days is just impossible. You can’t expect us to do that”. Also, I was told they were waiting to load our things from the warehouse (a thing we were NOT informed was happening) until our check went through, even though our bank said the check had been cashed 2 days before. They continued to try and extort us for more money saying if we wanted our things faster we would need to pay an expedited moving fee. We haven’t even received our things and it’s likely we won’t. DO NOT USE THIS FAKE COMPANY!

For about a month I didn't know when my stuff was going to arrive, but I was told upfront that it would be within 7-10 days. Second, when they did arrive a good amount of my stuff was damaged. So from what I can tell, it was just carelessness on the part of the movers. I'm not sure I'm going to get reimbursed through their claims process, as I've yet to here back from them after submitting the claims. Third, despite them telling you you're going to get discounts, they are going to charge you immensely for costs at pick up and delivery, and they expect cash (and don't provide receipts). This wouldn't have been an issue for me except this was a military move, and I needed documentation showing all the costs associated with the move. The movers didn't document the costs at pick up, and the movers at delivery didn't submit any paperwork either. So I was out a bunch of money that I didn't need to be.

In summary, this is an incredibly disorganized company that displayed unprofessionalism on a level I didn't expect. I should mention that I had actually scheduled the move through 'Landmark Movers.' They contracted out the work to this company. So stay away from both companies if possible.

Please don’t use this company!!! Instead of delivering my items from Maryland to Florida they took them to a storage unit and never attempted to deliver my items to the address on the contract. This was in September of 2021 and I’m waiting for a court date. Before they took my belongings to a random storage unit, they added over one thousand dollars to the move in “fees” and were completely rude and unprofessional. Also, they have multiple incorrect/bogus Registered Agent addresses published and when I emailed them for the correct one they provided another bogus one, so I had to take another approach. PLEASE DONT USE THIS BOGUS COMPANY!
