Horrible experience with Oz Moving. I think they hired the movers in a Home Depot parking lot. Small furniture wasn't wrapped in moving blankets, instead it was stuffed into a large box unprotected and almost everything was damaged. I was quoted $800 for three hours to move a one bedroom 18 miles, but was asked to pay $2300 at the end. Boxes marked FRAGILE - GLASSWARE were shipped underneath boxes marked HEAVY. When I complained about the damage and unprofessionalism, a man named Carlos at Oz Moving threatened to call the police on me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Super friendly, personable, and efficient moving company. I’ve used in both NYC and LA to move between cities (and cross country) and was very satisfied. Always on time and communicative. They know what they’re doing and are reasonably priced. Think some people forget that moving in CA is expensive (labor laws etc) and that is not Oz’s fault. Read the fine print in your quote, be prepared, and make the move easy for yourself and the courteous moving folks at Oz too!
Very friendly service. Very Fast and took down and put back up all the furniture.
Their team was highly responsive, and I appreciated that aspect of their service. However, I have some concerns regarding the cost. I ended up paying over $1,700 to move a 2-bedroom apartment from a storage unit where everything was packed and ready to go to an apartment just 15 minutes away.
To put this into perspective, I had previously hired another moving company, Bellhop Moving, for $1,400 to move the same amount of belongings into a storage unit. During that move, I was still in the process of packing, unlike my experience with this company where everything was already boxed. Interestingly, Bellhop used only 2 movers compared to the 3 movers from this company, yet it took Oz longer and was more expensive.
I must acknowledge that part of the extended time was due to my mistake, as I accidentally had them arrive at the storage unit an hour early. Nevertheless, even with this, the move took 8 hours in total. The additional charge for 1.5 hours of drive time amounted to an extra $300, essentially pushing the cost for moving to 9.5 hours, despite the actual time being 8 hours. Plus they don't deduct the movers break time which I find odd.
Overall, I believe they did a decent job with the move, but the cost was considerably higher than expected. It's worth considering more budget-friendly options for your moving needs.
