Paul & Sons Moving Services

I went to move on Saturday. I knew I wanted good movers this time and I thought that’s what I was getting but no. 1booked in October and deposit was taken. 2. They confirmed 4 days prior that they will be at my place by 10, 11 comes around and nothing. I tried calling multiple times no answer. So I drove over since the business was 7 minutes away from me. I have attached pictures to show what the business looked like on Saturday morning when the hours show they should be open. The doors were locked, 3 trucks in the back and NO ONE there. I have seen this company for years heard great things about them so did Paul & sons go out of business???? Hopefully this helps someone and maybe someone can answer why I cannot reach anyone via email, phone, or physically there, my deposit back will be appreciated.

They moved me in August and charged me three times the initial quote. Language barrier was major. Stuff that belonged upstairs went downstairs and everything that went downstairs went upstairs. They just hit my credit card again three times since the beginning of November for additional charges and I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. I have tried email voicemail and phone calls and have gotten no response.

I’m giving Paul and Son’s Moving Company one star, despite their consistent 5-star reviews, due to a series of unprofessional experiences throughout our move.

On the morning of our scheduled move, due to call-offs, only two employees, not movers, from the warehouse would be coming instead of the promised three. They spent over an hour on-site before even starting the move attempting to figure out what to do first and then took more than two hours to wrap and load just a couch and a few boxes. The movers struggled to load items onto a truck that didn’t have a ramp or lift, and they seemed unorganized, with little sense of urgency.

Three and a half hours into the move, Paul Jr. (the owner) arrived to help because they still couldn’t get a third mover. Even then, much of our furniture was not properly wrapped prior to Paul Jr. coming on site.

The following day, upon delivery across the state, I noticed our items had been moved to a different truck without our consent, which unfortunately led to missing items — including a step ladder, dolly, and Christmas decorations valued well over $200. Despite Paul Jr.’s assurances that he’d personally return them, it’s now been almost five months, and we’ve yet to receive our belongings.

On top of the missing items, several things were damaged, including a pull-out couch, a lamp, and multiple dishes. I can only assume boxes had been thrown from one truck to another based on the damages and conditions of the boxes delivered. To add to the poor experience, one of the movers asked us to leave our new apartment to go get McDonald’s for them — at our expense.

Overall, this experience was far from the professional service we expected, and we cannot recommend Paul and Son’s Moving Company based on how they handled our move.
