I made a reservation over the phone, when I arrived I had no truck and now I have to drive an extra 80 miles each way and pay a late fee for what I was using the truck for. I’m extremely unhappy.

Review:

Disappointing rental of a Penske truck at this location last Wednesday 10/2.

The young lady in the rental office was very friendly.

Truck was terrible, truck had no gas cap, which caused the check engine light to go off, and I had to find a Penske service center to get a gas cap, and the check engine light reviewed.

Truck had a terrible pull to right, so fought the steering wheel for 1,500 miles.

When I went to return the truck, found out that they checked the truck out as having a full tank of gas, but actually had 2/3 of a tank on the contract! When I was checked out in CT this was not shown to me.

I thought I was renting a moving truck and what I ended up with was a commercial truck. The deck was so high my 5-ft low something girlfriend had a hard time getting up in the back. Perfect for backing into a dock for sure. I paid to cover 150 miles knowing very well that I would not cover that much miles. If you spend your lifetime driving you would know how many miles you would cover from point a to b and c. We put 111 cuz I took rt 72 to rt 9 to 91. Jumped on rt 2 to 84. They bill me for 150, 175? From Windsorlocks to Vernon to Bristol back to E.Windsor and it was not 150+ miles. I was told I will get back the difference if I kept it below 150 and instead I was charged for the whole entire 150 miles. I'll go to U-Haul and pay the 20 bucks over on county Road in Windsor locks like I've done before and after the Pestke robbery. It's not about the cost of the rental but it's the basic principle of being quoted one price and then being charged something else.
