We reserved a truck weeks in advance and got great customer service leading up to the pick up. On the day of our move, we arrived on time to Home Depot. We were told my Home Depot that Penske didn’t drop a truck for us, despite our confirmation emails. Home Depot tried to assist by calling Penske but they kept pushing us off to the local office, who left us all on hold for 20 minutes. Ultimately Penske told us to drive 15 miles away to another location. The other location only had equipment in a larger size, so we had to pay for larger equipment than we needed but since time was running out on our moving day and Penske didn’t have our truck available as requested, we had no other options on such short notice. We also had to pay the extra miles it took to take the truck to/from our home. At the end of the day, I reached out to Penske asking for someone to make the situation right and remove the extra charge for the unnecessary larger equipment and extra miles. No one responded. I even left a survey response. I get that things sometimes don’t go according to plan but the complete lack of customer service from rental start to now has been terrible. I was optimistic that this would be better than uHaul but for my next move, I’ll go back to them. Nothing remotely close to this has happened with uHaul.
