Pink Zebra Moving

I waited three months to write this review to see if maybe I would feel better with time. In fact somehow it keeps getting worse. I’m sitting here in my guest room trying to assemble the bed here which Pink Zebra never put together during our move (they didn’t assemble any of the beds because they took so long doing everything else). And half the parts are missing and I have no idea where they are. I have spent the last three months looking for my belongings. I still don’t know where a lot of them are. Mostly because most things weren’t put where they were supposed to go, despite me labeling all the boxes I packed and color coding them by room. I have found attic boxes in the basement. Kitchen boxes in the barn and my son’s memory box in the garage. I packed (and meticulously labeled) as much as possible and we had hired Pink Zebra to do the rest. I walked Michelle through every room of our house and said “assume that all of this will need to be packed and moved and if I get any of it done myself beforehand, so much the better”. Yet somehow, despite me getting about half the house packed, the time they allotted to pack us up wasn’t enough. And half the boxes they packed weren’t labeled at all. Which meant when they came off the truck I had to open each one and unwrap the contents to figure out which room it was supposed to go in. And that was before the move even started. The move itself was a disaster. They loaded up all the boxes first and took them ten minutes to our new house and started unloading. They left half the team at the old house to load up the furniture but once they eventually brought the furniture over it was hard to find space for it because the boxes were taking up all the space. It was so mismanaged they had to come back for another whole day (which they didn’t charge us for but in my opinion nor should they have since it was their mistakes that led to this outcome). We had to arrange extra child care and board our dogs for the day to accommodate this. When they unloaded all the furniture into our Victorian home, they took all the moving blankets off while it was still in the truck and then moved it. They didn’t put any protection on the molding or doors or walls which led to damage of the moldings, ripped wallpaper and dented and scratched furniture. They left a wing chair overnight on the front porch in the rain and a mattress leaning up against our barn also in the rain. We didn’t discover these until the next day. They also left the basement doors at our old house open during a rainstorm causing the basement to flood which we then had to clean up before our final walk through on the sale of our old house. It was a full debacle that went on for days and which I am still feeling the reverberations of. All the reviews here were so amazing I never imagined we would have this kind of experience. I do not write negative reviews lightly and am inclined to let small inconveniences go for the sake of the greater good but I cannot let this go. Based on the other reviews maybe this was a one-off really bad day for them but I had to share our experience. With any luck I’ll have found all my belongings before 2025.
