I tried reading and scheduling a pod to be delivered on the website, but it was confusing so I called to get more clarification. I called and spoke to someone and asked all the necessary questions. One specific question I asked was if the closing date on our house was moved back and we had to rent the pod for an additional few days, would I be refunded a pro rated amount. From my understanding, I was told yes and they work with people if circumstances occur like that. Well it happened and it was pushed back a week. I used the pod an additional 2 weeks out of the monthly rental I WAS ALREADY PRE CHARGED FOR. I called to have the pod picked up and a refund for the prorated amount for the remainder and was told no, I signed a rental agreement. The rental agreement I signed I was walked through on the phone and quickly hurried to sign. Nor does anyone of the several people I spoke to speak English well which leads to even more frustration, confusion, and clarification issues. To have a monthly rental policy and not a prorated policy for things that are beyond your control with the housing market is absolutely ridiculous. They have no problem scheduling the pod to be delivered to you within a day, but when it comes to them picking it up, it takes 3 days when you want it gone. Horrible customer service.
I was told over the phone that when my pod went into the storag/transfer facility I wouldn't be charged, that was a lie and cost me an extra $1200 before I could have it delivered to my new address. This company is a rip off
After having moved 90% of my belongings to DE from south-central PA by a regular moving company, I contacted PODS recently to move the remaining 10%. It took 3 representatives. When I was disconnected from first one, I'd hoped they'd call me back (they had my cellphone #), so that I wouldn't have to start again w a new rep. The 2nd time was more productive, but we again got disconnected. The 3rd time I was called away, and the woman said she'd call me back in an hour so I could continue to deal w her. She never did. Despite having concerns about discrepancies in quotes, etc., I was amenable to working it out and placing an order.
Since no one was getting back to me, I decided to check out reviews. (Note to self: ALWAYS ck reviews FIRST!) I'm happy to say that those of you who took the time to write about your experience swayed me to abandon my intention of using PODS. (And yes, I read both negative AND positive reviews.) If it's any consolation to those who had negative to horrific experiences, I heeded your warnings, and have since decided on an alternate moving option. The power of public opinion prevails! I, for one, and grateful to you, and will return the favor by providing consumer reviews, good or bad, for any products or services.
They were always on time. Very easy to setup, great customer service. Made moving so much easier. Would highly recommend
