Great service
This was the second time using PODS, most recent being a move from Florida to Delaware. Nothing but high praise from start to finish, from the customer service staff to drivers both in Florida and Delaware. Convenient, easy, and competitive. Would strongly recommend!
We recently moved from FL to Philly and knew that our first time driving in the city should not be in a moving truck. We opted for PODS due to this and though it is a little bit more expensive, it was well worth the quality of service. The only issues we had were some miscommunications from our booking agent about what delivery in Philly would need. But our drivers helped us out perfectly. Our contact in FL, George, was incredibly helpful and efficient. Our driver in Philly, Cindy Norton, was spectacular as well. Cindy worked with us day-of to make sure we had enough space for the truck and was so patient as we unpacked everything, helping us with the lift and with wonderful stories and Philly tips. Cindy was so kind, welcoming, helpful, AND fun!! We are so grateful to have had good service during such a stressful time. *Photos from pick up in FL*
I don't typically leave one star reviews, but this experience was awful. I do not recommend PODS. Stay far, far away! When we initially called, the agent was helpful, pleasant, and we felt really great about our decision to use PODS. When we moved, we utilized PODS storage for two months until we moved to our final destination. When we called PODS to schedule the final drop-off they quoted us about $1,100 more than the first agent quoted us for the drop-off (the initial agent quoted us $141 and said that it might be a little more 'but if it's within the area like 30 minutes or an hour there might be a slight difference but not that much.' In my opinion, $1,100 is not just 'a slight difference' than $141). When we spoke to a manager, they 'dropped' the price to about $900 which is still way more than we were originally quoted. They basically were telling us we'd need to pay this amount or we wouldn't get our belongings. Additionally, with the first agent, she said that we would need to give PODS a two-day notice in advance of when we'd want our belongings. When we tried to schedule, they said it would take a week. After them telling us there was nothing we could do to move the day up, we had it scheduled for the following Friday. However, on Wednesday (two days before the pod was supposed to be delivered) I received a call at 8am from PODS from the driver saying they were about 10 mins away from delivering it. We were, at that time, an hour away from our final destination, nor did we have any help scheduled for that day (as everyone was scheduled to help on Friday). We spent MORE of our time on the phone trying to confirm with PODS that the pod was indeed dropped off as the website still said our delivery was scheduled for Friday. The lady on the phone was unable to confirm where our pod was. My husband called the driver back 10 times until he finally answered and confirmed it was dropped off. I was still on the phone with the other agent and had to let HER know that the pod was dropped off. When we got to the pod, the door wouldn't open. When we called an agent, they refused to let my husband talk to a manager (the agent on the phone literally told my husband 'no') and said he couldn't do anything else to help. We called the original driver who said we'd have to call the company. When speaking to the company, it took my husband over an hour on the phone, and another one of our friends to actually drive to the local PODS store and talk to someone, to make sure someone came to help us open the pod that day. We needed it opened that day because our apartment complex said the pod needed to be removed within 3 days. There were hours and hours wasted on the phone with many rude and incompetent agents who were unable and unwilling to help us. When I put a claim into PODS about them charging us more and not what they originally quoted (again $141 to $1,100) they sent me the transcript of the original call. Melissa, the agent dealing with our case, said that the initial agent gave correct information. They included the transcript in the email to me showing that the initial agent said exactly what I quoted above, 'could be a possibility, but if it's within the area like 30 minutes to an hour there might be a slight difference but not that much' (pics posted). Again, I am not sure in what world an additional $1,000 is not that much. This company took advantage of me and my family. We have an 8 month old and just moved 1,000 miles. We wasted so much time trying to deal with all of this and it was extremely stressful. Be very careful if you are moving forward with PODS. I never will again.
