PODS Moving & Storage

I completed a move from Las Vegas to DC. I got quotes from containers such as PODS and full service companies, but after reading horror stories from the full service companies that use a full size truck to move multiple families and mixing up items. I didn't want the nightmare of trying to get my things back so I went with PODS.

Pros: The customer service was great! They clearly explained the process and how much it would cost. There were no surprise charges. I knew how much and when I had to pay. They sent ample email reminders and sent me a brochure that provided helpful resources to help my move. I wish that they could notify me more than a day prior of when my window is, but they always arrived within the window and the drivers were really kind and cared about my needs and placed the POD where I wanted it to go to make the loading and unloading easier.

Cons: During the initial call, they got my email wrong so I wasn't getting any emails. The brochure they sent directed me to their website where I found out that there was a lot more to arrange for the move. I had to call and get it all straightened out less than a week before the POD was supposed to arrive. I was stressed about making the phone call, but the customer service was great. I wasn't bad getting it straightened out and they reduced my fees for the inconvenience which I appreciated. Additionally, the POD was smaller than what I needed, but I can understand they can't know for sure the size I need, but I wished they offered bigger PODS.

Horrible experience. Overcharged - a lot. Double-billed. Took me 5 hours to open door upon arrival. Nothing blocking. Used ABF before - much more pleasant exp
