PODS has outsourced customer service staff that lie about shipment dates, prices, and the process.

I found out today, 3 days before my PODS was supposed to be delivered in California, that it hasn't left Virginia yet.

Completely unacceptable, avoid this company if you are moving.

Impossible to reach anyone in your local area. If pods damages the container during storage you’re still responsible without buying additional insurance.

Thought I was in for a seamless experience choosing to go with pods.. big mistake. Let’s start with me calling in for a quote, and being told that if I don’t use the full month I get prorated back what I didn’t use. They were quick to deliver the storage container, however when it came time to get it picked up the site wasn’t working so I had to call in, the person I spoke with told me there would be another charge I’ll get once they pick it up. Mind you at this point I already paid $388 upfront with the knowledge that that was the price for the entire service of dropping the container, storing it for two weeks, and dropping it at my new location. I submitted in a ticket with them to look into it and it came back with them saying they did everything right. Now why would I make that up when I called in for a quote before booking? Everything was still ok until this week- there is a tropical storm arriving and I had called in multiple times to pods to see if I can get an escalated pick up as the street the container is on floods very, very badly. My stuff has been sitting outside for a good week and a half now. All you get are excuses and explanations, and “oh sorry they’re not answering.” I was even given an email address to Brandy who apparently is the manager of this facility. I was told I’d hear back within 24-72 hours and I’m on the 3rd day with still nothing back. At this point I’ve took matters into my own hands by buying a flood barrier to help protect my items in the container. Absolutely piss poor service. If they can’t honor it at least contact me with something. I will never use pods again for any moving and I’ll never recommend it to anyone I know. DONT GO WITH THEM! Spend your money elsewhere!!!!
