PODS Moving & Storage

Only complaint would be the cost to store a POD. Not inexpensive, but I knew that coming in. Every other aspect of the experience was fantastic.
Pick up at our previous home was great, and storage near our new home was as well. After a longer-than-expected storage period, the POD was delivered, expertly by Joel Allison, who is an absolutely wonderful person. He expertly navigated our long and narrow driveway and placed the POD carefully in an ideal location. He also helped with the opening of the POD - to reveal everything was in it’s exact place (Tip: heed the advice for packing, and think of items shifting around, and potentially impeding the door from opening).
Now, ugh, it’s just up to my wife and me to unload all this stuff (second Tip: think seriously, if moving long distance, to sell or donate and just buy again… moving is EXPENSIVE).

I will give them 2 stars as the driver's are great and make every effort to assist. They truly go the extra mile. As far as the company goes steer clear in my opinion if you are going a move. If you need to store locally maybe.
You will end up paying as much as a full service mover and their pricing is so ridiculously confusing and almost assuredly purposely disjointed that no one can figure out with discounts, calls to managers, different people =different pricing. It's sad and a game.

If you do choose them do NOT pay extra for insurance because what isn't spelled out they will pay nothing unless its the following reasons. So basically unless its a catastrophe you are on your own even with insurance. I personally like L. READ IT. This is not explained fully on the phone as they are upselling you on insurance.

A. Fire or Lightning;
B. Windstorm or Hail but not loss caused by rain, snow, sleet, sand, or dust unless the direct force of wind or hail damages the unit causing an opening in a roof or wall and the rain, snow, sleet, sand, or dust enters through this opening;
C. Explosion;
D. Riot or Civil Commotion;
E. Aircraft or Vehicles;
F. Smoke
G. Vandalism and Malicious Mischief;
H. Weight of ice, snow, or sleet;
I. Accidental discharge of Overflow of Water or Steam from your plumbing, heating, air conditioning, or automatic fire protective sprinkler system;
J. Falling Objects, but only if the roof or an outside wall of the unit is first damaged by the falling object;
K. Burglary, while in the care, custody, and control of PODS, their affiliates and/or agent with evidence of a forcible break-in and entry;
L. Collapse of the unit or of a building onto the unit but only if the collapse was caused by a covered cause of loss;
M. Federally Certified Acts of Terrorism (but not to include acts of chemical, biological and nuclear terrorism); and
N. Collision, upset, or overturn while the covered property is in transit to or from your storage facility or the tenant’s designated location or at the tenant's origination or destination location.

I would not ever choose to do PODs again for these reasons. Caveat Emptor. Read many reviews and make your decision carefully. If I had to do it again I would have done a full service mover.
