We hired 'full service movers' and it was more than a bad experience - it was absolutely traumatizing and we did quite a bit of research having heard horror stories prior. Our movers ended up just saying they were out of time and bailing on us with stuff left over. PODS delivered a pod the next day, process was seamless and we became customers for life. PODS is the only way to move in our opinion - we are getting ready to move my mother and we will be using the full service version of PODS!

TLDR: Turns out you get what you pay for – buyer beware. Damage to my furniture AND my property; no resolution.

EDIT: in response to the reply...I have no idea who UNIRISC(sp) is. I was referred to Gallagher Bassett. Seems like a waste of my time to spend another six months trying to work with your insurance company only to be rejected and/or ghosted again.

I decided to try using PODS for a recent move. The prospect of having a few days to pack up the storage unit on both ends of the move was the biggest draw. I will say that the pricing, the scheduling, and even finalizing dates was not difficult. That being said, those are “nice to haves” – after showing up on time, proper handling and not causing damage to your things are really the baseline requirements for a positive moving experience. Unfortunately, neither of those basic requirements were met, and after one of their drivers (the second driver…first driver dropping off the unit had no problem) damaged part of my home property, months of me calling and emailing their customer service agents (who provide very little responsiveness for these types of situations) I was referred to THEIR insurance company – Gallagher Bassett Third-Party Administrator) and had to deal directly with them for several more months, until ultimately they rejected the claim and accused me of insurance fraud. I am at a loss for what to do now except warn everyone I can that PODS will do whatever they can to avoid responsibility if anything goes wrong with the service you pay for.
