PODS Moving & Storage

I had a horrible experience with pods I had this set up for August 16th when I set up to have pods come in September after my closing was selling my house and purchasing a house in southern Indiana and they told me that they have a third party mover with Furniture blankets a few days before my closing I get a brochure in the mail and it says have you hired your movers and I called pods back and I said I wasn't told this and he said well here's these three companies that we use that you pick an estimate of who you want to pack your pods and unpack your pods on in the other state and I said this was not told to me on August 16th when we set this up and he said that the besides they use a third party moving company they also provide Furniture blankets again that was a lie because I found out when you're moving out of state that these moving companies do not provide moving blankets because they won't get them back when you're moving out of state so I had to purchase my own moving blankets I spent like $700 for 12 packs of moving blankets and then when I get to the other end in Southern Indiana and we try to open the doors will everything it's shifted into the front and we had to keep pushing things finally get the door open and everything was a mess in there the chairs and everything were all over the place where the guy that delivered the Pod said well you should have had tie down straps I don't know the moving company I use if they use their tie down straps they wouldn't get them back so I should have been told I needed to put a purchase of tie down straps to hold everything so it wouldn't move around and I had some glass break on some pictures and it was just one big mess and so they're not forthcoming with what you need so just know that you have to hire your own moving people to pack your pods and unpack your pods unless you're able to do it yourself and they're going to give you three companies and they're like an Angie's List for movers and then you pick whichever one has the best prices what I did and the guy here when he brought the Pod said well they people didn't pack the pods correctly well how am I to know this so I don't know anything about it so I would not recommend pods for anybody and it is expensive mine was like $7,500 all total roughly between the movers on that end the movers on this end and the cost of everything of buying the locks and the keys and and they don't provide the moving blankets they don't provide the strap down things which they should because there's pods all over the country and they can get their stuff sent back to them through the pods company I don't know why they don't do that but of course I'm never going to move again this is it but just before one don't go to pods find some other way to get your belonging safely if you're moving out of state
