Was an affordable way to move and store our furniture while moving from one house to another.

PODS was 6 hours late delivering the pod and then didn’t pick up the pod on the scheduled date even after I had called twice to confirm the pick up date and was assured both times the pod would be picked up. I was not informed that the pod was unable to be picked up on the scheduled date. There is no one you can call directly, every time I call for an update I spend 15 minutes on hold and always talk to a different person. I wouldn’t recommend pods service to anyone. Hire a moving company with an actual contact person you can speak to. Hire a company that is accountable and notifies customers of delays and cancellations. I wish I had done more research on pods and seen all the other bad reviews of missed delivery and pick up times. Moving is stressful enough, PODS and their lack of service and communication has only made it worse. Extremely disappointed and will never hire again.

UPDATE, 9/1/20:
After PODS missed the original pick-up time on Saturday, I couldn't reschedule for Monday because they don't work on Sundays. I called first thing Monday morning 8am to reschedule, and no one could give me an ETA for a new pick-up time. I called PODS 6 times, each time given new and different information from the last call. My pick-up time was noon-3pm, then I was told 'the driver is coming right now' at 3pm, but the driver didn’t come until 5pm.

9/24 UPDATE:
Like Katie, my pod was also never properly time stamped and marked as dropped off.

Like Harry, PODS will only reimburse me for all the expenses incurred with delays unless I delete my negative reviews.

For my final destination in the Los Angeles area of California I ended up hiring another moving company to get my things out of storage and move it to my new place. My condo building doesn’t have a driveway long enough for PODS and to get street parking overnight I’d have to get city permits and permission.

ALSO be wary of not knowing your final address. PODS may either not service your area or as in my case in LA, I would’ve had to pay $150 and wait more time to transfer to another warehouse that served the neighboring zip code of the zip code I had previously listed before I finalized my move.

My friends used Uhaul Ubox a few times cross country and had no issues! I suggest you look into Uhaul or Allied Van Lines.
