PODS Moving & Storage

Attempted for more than two months to cancel this. I called for a price quote way back in March, stupidly giving them my account number. I never ordered anything nor intended to create an account with them. They sent dozens of E-mails and I called them between 15 and 20 times to try to cancel. Now even though they say they got it cancelled, they are trying to bill my checking account. Twice my bank has had to refuse charges. They won't quit. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with this type of company.

Our POD experience has been AWESOME!! The company was very flexible with our needs and it was very easy to adjust pick up and drop off dates. The drivers, Mike and Dan, always called to give a heads up when they were headed to our homes! Very pleased with the professional service!! Military Thumbs Up!!!

I am so disappointed with this company. I thought we had researched and made the best determination for our out-of-state move. DO NOT TRUST WHAT YOU ARE TOLD BY THIS COMPANY.

We decided to moved back to Iowa from Arizona. I called to check into using PODS as an option. As seen in commercials, we order a pod fill it at our speed and call when we were ready for it to be picked up. If we needed another just ask. The person on the phone asked for an address in Iowa that we would have the Pod delivered. I explained we did not have a permanent address yet. I was told,”oh that's fine just any address for now so I can put into the computer, then when you find a place just give us a call and we will deliver your items from our Ankeny storage center to your new home”. I provided my mothers address and we began the process.

We ordered three 16ft PODS, loaded them and called the company to have the PODS ready to ship to Iowa. October 2023 we moved back to Iowa, fast forward to April 25, 2024. We called to order the Pods to be delivered to our new home in May. We were told the transit cost from Tucson, AZ to Ankeny, IA will be $9,696.65 plus tax. The customer service representative continued to tell me the original invoice showed that we were being charged $4,000 for the 1st Pod, nothing for the 2nd and the 3rd Pod would be $3,650 for a total of $7,650. The representative said that invoice was incorrect and it would be changed to 3158.78 for the 1st Pod, 3158.78 for the 2nd and 3379.09 for the 3rd a total of $9,696.65. The representative created a case number and said it was elevated for further review.

The best part of this entire situation is we were advised PODS doesn’t service the area where our new home is. Now we will have to rent other trucks to get our household items to our new home. That distance is just under 100 miles. So when they tell you that the price is a certain amount for each Pod, make sure that they tell you the delivery fee and IF they even service the area where your new home will be. We were told that they did service Iowa but they did not tell us that there were parts of Iowa that they didn’t deliver to. The only positive feed back I can give is that the delivery and pick up drivers were very friendly and respectful. DONT FALL INTO THAT TRAP

My wife and I recently moved from Arizona to Iowa. We watched ads on TV about using PODS and the adds talked about how we would order a pod or pods and the company would bring them to our home. The ads said we would load them and when we were ready the company would pick them up and store them at their facility. After that the pods would be sent to our new home when we were ready. We told the company that we would be temporarily staying with a relative until we found a new home. They said that would be fine and just to give them the address of our new home so we could setup delivery of the pods. We found our new home in Southeast Iowa and we were waiting for an official closing date so we could have the pods delivered. We called the company and they told us it would be $9,696.65 plus tax just to get the three pods delivered to Ankeny, Iowa. During a phone call, my wife said that the customer service representative told her that the original invoice showed that we were being charged $4,000 for the first pod. The second pod we wouldn’t be charged anything and the third pod would be $3,650 for a total of $7,650.
