Typically, I’m not the kind of person to leave a review, positive or negative, but when a company or individual goes well beyond expectations, they deserve recognition. To Carl out of the Lehi PODS office - sincerely, thank you. You made the impossible happen. Whatever they are paying you is not enough. Of you ever want to drop by for steaks and beers, you know the address. Thanks again Carl. You’re the man.
Everything went as planned. The gentleman who dropped off the container at my house in UT (Carl) was really nice and told me a great deal about the company. Will use them again if needed.
I like PODs. The initial reservation was very detailed, and ensured that I rented the correct size unit for my move. I was concerned about driving a U haul truck in wintery conditions on unfamiliar roads across from California to Utah. PODs transported my stuff for me. The drop off of the unit was on time and very enlightening about how it was done. The Empty unit drop off driver and the later pick up driver were both courteous and friendly. I even called PODs to change my pick up of the full container to the next day to give myself more time to load my stuff, and that was seamless. Access to the unit at the destination facility was also as expected and went well. My belongings arrived in perfect shape with no breakages. I attribute that to the fact that I was steered to picking the correct size unit. And the fact that I densely packaged the unit, balanced the weight throughout the unit, placed heavy boxes on the bottom of stacks of boxes, wrapped stacks of boxes near the rear of the unit in cellophane wrap, and placed a mattress box spring as the last barrier to prevent anything from shifting against the POD door. And I held the mattress in place with a bungee cord spider web with other bungee chords to connect to the brackets in the POD.
Quick to take your money, not willing to help you solve issues when they occur.
PODS damage coverage is just about as good as healthcare. I had a 70 inch OLED tv that was completely wrapped in bubble wrap corner protectors and sandwiched between two memory foam mattresses. When my POD was delivered the tv bottom corner was completely shattered and my pictures, cables, and frames were scratched to oblivion even property in the boxes was damaged. I filed a claim just for the TV and they said they won’t cover it because this is just normal shifting of my stuff during shipment. It seems more like they airdropped my POD from the upper atmosphere. They also said damage won’t be covered unless the steel POD is damaged. So if you have anything less than literal corrugated steel packed inside they won’t cover the damages.
Edit: the blame shift is very interesting here instead of realizing that your employees are full sending it while hauling containers or adjusting your policies and coverage options to care for other people’s objects you tell me to call the people who just rejected the claim for another review. I’ve read your policy and from what I’m seeing it says acts of terrorism or destruction of the POD itself is the only way your policies will cover damage.
