Jason was very helpful and nice! Great place and nice people and secure, safe storage.
Location is great, and my unit is clean and easily accessible. I can overlook the 25% rate hike on my unit just six months after moving my belongings in because apparently this is a racket all storage companies pull. (Advertise low prices to lock people in, and then do frequent rate hikes to quickly double or triple the rate.)
Here is what I cannot and will not overlook: this is the second time in just three months they have unceremoniously cancelled my autopay with zero reason or notification to me.
Thankfully I'm a responsible adult and log in every month between the 1st and 3rd to make sure I've been charged. (I even have 'log into Public Storage' on my calendar, and a notification set for my calendar event.)
Well, I logged in again this month, and what do you know- they cancelled my autopay again!
The last time I called them when this happened in December they said 'we have NO idea why your autopay was cancelled. It must have been a system glitch.' FYI they did NOT email me in December to tell me my payment was late.
Once is a glitch. Twice is intentional.
Here is why this 'glitch' is so serious:
According to my contract, if I'm 30 days late on payment they will auction the contents of my 10' x 20' unit, which currently contains 90% of all my earthly belongings. (This is a legal agreement that I signed, under the understanding that Public Storage offered autopay.)
Do they make more money auctioning off units than they do generating revenue from rentals? Because that would certainly explain why they keep cancelling my autopay FOR NO REASON and then not even bothering to tell me!
Oh- and even when I WAS set up on autopay, they'd email me mid-month and remind me to pay my bill for the following month. Like what? I'm on autopay!
NOT happy about this and plan to file a complaint with the CFPB (assuming it still exists).
