I had forgotten to pay my bill and Nicole was very kind to call and remind me. Great customer service and was very helpful when I had to move my stuff from one unit to the other. I needed a bigger unit and she helped me find one that fit me just right.
I had a very poor experience here on Dec 27th, I believe. I won an auction there. I go there to start emptying the unit and a lady named Nicole, who I believe is the property manager gave me a hard time. I arrived in my Honda Civic, she did not like that. She asked me if someone with a truck is coming. She said she doesn't know if she can let me in thru the gates if I dont have a truck. She said she will have to look at the unit pictures first and then decide. I was getting a little anxious, but luckily, she decided to let me in with my own car. I did not know this was a rule?
Then, she decided on her own to only give me 24 hours to clear it out. Instead of the contracted 48 hours. She said it does not look like a lot. There were at least 10 bins in there, a couple of bags of clothes, and an exercise machine as well. 24 hours was impossible. I tried my best to empty out the most but I told her I needed the 2nd day. She said she needed to go take a look at the unit first and then she'll decide. We walked over to the unit and she thought about it and luckily, gave me my 2nd day.
Right after, she said that I have to take off my own lock and they have to put their own lock. I am new to this but it sounded wrong. I hesitantly agreed because I did not want her to take away my second day. Her male co-worker seemed to look at her confused but he went a long with it. Every time I asked her why, she just kept saying that the DM (District Manager) says so.
I have cleared out units in almost every Public Storage in a 10 mile radius and they all have been great. All the staff has been great. This was a giant headache and I was not happy how I was treated.
I am grateful for the District Manager James that called me and profusely apologized. He explained that she was not properly trained and that my situation was poorly handled and will not happen again. I would give this 1 star but James was very kind.
I was a little paranoid when they put their own lock. The next day, I could not find a handful of coins that I put away. James ensured me that the unit was not accessed at any point. I will take his word, I could have possibly misplaced them.
I will do business again at this location if I see a good unit.
