I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Public Storage location at 709 California Ave, Sand City, CA 93955. On Tuesday, December 3rd, at 10:00 AM, I visited the office to address an issue with being charged three different amounts each month for my unit.

From the start, the employee assisting me, an older female, was dismissive and unprofessional. When I asked for clarification, she spoke very quickly, making it hard to follow, and seemed visibly annoyed when I asked her to repeat or explain further. Her tone became increasingly hostile, particularly when I mentioned opting out of insurance during the online setup process.

I also asked about specific charges of $11 and $15, but instead of providing clear answers, she disregarded my questions and acted frustrated. The entire interaction left me feeling unsupported and frustrated, to the point where I decided to cancel my subscription altogether.

I expected a much higher level of professionalism and customer service from Public Storage, and this experience was both surprising and disappointing. I hope the company takes steps to improve the customer experience at this location.

Well for a few days now I come during business hrs and it's a no show with no sign. On to the next storage unit for business......

Wendy, the on-site manager, has been most helpful! I am breathing easier since she locked me in with a favorable rate and explained the rental procedure patiently. Thank you!

I rented a unit Sept 2024. My unit had rope tied up on the sprinkler pipes and since I was having a busy day for me. I said that's fine and accepted it. Mon. Sept. 30 I came to the office to pay for October and I was told(by Wendy)that I am good and no need to pay and that my next payment wont be until November 1st. I asked to make sure and I took her word for it. BIG MISTAKE! Weeks gone by, I got a call from Public Storage telling me I'm late on my rental payment. Went to the office and informed Wendy of the issue. I made my payment and Wendy was nice enough to waive the late fee. (BUT NOT INFORMING ME that the time to process waiving the late fee WILL NOT grant me access to my storage.) Days gone by I found out my access code is not working and telling me to SEE THE MANAGER. This was after office hours. I pressed the button, called the number, knocked on the office door and got NOTHING. Couldn't get my tools to do extra work. Around 3rd week of October took time off early from work to make it to the office and told Wendy why I cannot access my storage that I've paid. She did something on the computer and then everything was ok and told me I'm good to go. Not feeling happy of the situations I was going through. I decided to vacate. October 31st my unit was cleared out. It was already late in the afternoon and the office was closed called and nobody answered on the phone or get a recording. Besides I had to do some Halloween stuff. November 1st, I reported that I'm moved out. Nick who was nice to help but can't resolve the issue told me I have to pay for November. Came back a couple days and Wendy said the same, I have to pay. I get it, it's policy. Let's go back to September 30. NONE OF THIS would have happened had my payment been accepted. I do my best to comply with policies but like any human, we all have our days. Why was I told I didn't have to pay. I DON'T KNOW. Got nothing against Wendy or Nick. But now I am being charged for a storage that I cannot use. I am really disappointed going back and trying this company again. Human error or not. Given the details above, I don't think it's fair at all.

Wendy is great! She is so informative, clear, and an absolute delight. I feel reassured and confident with my choice for this particular storage building simply because of Wendy’s presence.
