Had rat urine and droppings ruin many items in my unit. Also, never replaced the light which didn't work, only to tell me AS I'M CLOSING my account, that they don't fix lights anymore. Never told me at any of the times I asked them to fix it though...

So I’ve had my stuff stored here for a few years. Nothing stolen, I’ve received great customer service if I’ve ever had to call.
But I’m rating 3/5 stars because of the HUGE HORRIBLE rat infestation?. I walked into my unit and EVERYTHING was covered in rat feces! My suitcases, inside any open bags or boxes… the floors were as covered in rat feces as my things were. They were freaking everywhere’ it was GROSS! Hoping I don’t catch hantavirus from having to wipe poop off my things & sort through & remove my stuff…
I did have some items chewed up. That was unfortunate. And there must’ve been a water leak at some point because family photo frames were wavy & misshapen.
I’m disappointed in the quality of cleanliness in this facility. I shouldn’t have to throw away multiple suitcases from rat poop getting stuck all over them?.
So just be aware that at this facility your stuff might be safe from thieves, but will be damaged from rat infestations unless everything is in solid tubs with lids.?‍♂️

I like the easy access to our storage unit, the manager was always very pleasant, the facility was clean and they didn’t have people hanging out there, so my daughter and I felt very safe, when we did run into other people they were always very kind, so I would definitely recommend it if you are in need of a storage facility. I almost forgot I liked the fact that we could open and close the gate using our smart phone which to me was an added bonus.

In a bad part of portland but great prices

BEWARE of this place. It's trash. Rat/mice infestations, thieves breaking into your unit,, and horrible customer service (no one picks up the phone, no one calls you back, and no one protects your stuff.)

Their entire property is infested with rats or mice. And when you discover that your unit has been infiltrated by rodents and all of your stuff had been destroyed by rodents, they tell you it's not their responsibility and to use your personal renter's insurance (except renter's insurance doesn't cover pests, so you're just screwed).

3 weeks ago, we find that someone has cut off our lock and put a different lock on our unit. We try to get ahold of someone. No one is ever in the office, no one ever answers the phone, and no one calls us back. After 3 weeks, we finally get ahold of someone after calling again.

They say they have no idea who cut off our lock. We have never missed a single payment or even been late on a monthly payment. They said it wasn't them, even though there was a Public Storage sticker on the lock that means it's an authorized lock-- except they apparently didn't know if it was an authorized lock or not? And they didn't know who put the sticker on it.

They said that other units have been broken into by thieves before. The lady couldn't have cared less. Basically said there is nothing they could do and they had no answers for me besides make an appointment for someone to be at the property for us to sign a paper giving them permission to cut off this lock that was put on our unit, then wait for them to call us days later after they have cut it off and replaced it with a combo lock that they would then give us the code to.

We will be filling a police report, filing an insurance claim, filling complaints with Public Storage corporate, and once we have finally gotten back into our own unit and if there is anything left of our stuff that the thieves left behind, we will be moving whatever's left to a completely different storage unit company.

This place is ghetto, trashy, and riddled with thieves and rats. They have ONE JOB. Protect our stuff, and they fail miserably at it every single day.

If you manage a storage unit property and you find out customers are having their locks cut off and their storage units broken into, wouldn't you want to like... Check your cameras, talk to your employees, and maybe find out what happened and when it happened and maybe stop that from happening? Nope. Not this place.
