BEWARE of rat infestation!! First of all, I have been a renter of an interior unit since May 2021 and in 3.5 years, my rent has increased 100%. I have had no problems with my unit, the property or the management until I went there on September 20th to find that it had been infested by rodents with evidence of rat feces and urine all over.

I have loaded the storage unit with rat poison and come back every 2 weeks to find it’s been eaten. The most recent time I checked my unit and added more poison was today. It seems to me that rodents are coming in through the AC duct.

I have spoken to Gladys, the property manager, and while she’s aware of the problem, it seems there is only so much she can do personally aside from alerting Public Storage corporate. While new traps have been placed outside the buildings, the problem still remains without having an exterminator come to treat the buildings.

Given the new higher amount in rent I’m paying Public Storage, I have seen service deteriorate and their response to this rodent infestation has been highly unsatisfactory.
